Here's the deal, i'm 25 years old 6'5" 240lbs. I'm not a solid 240, i recently lost nearly 60lbs. I am looking for advice on a good diet to loose the rest of my body fat (mainly in the stomach and chest area) and put on some muscle. My goals are to devolop a muscular physique. I've been told by friends at the gym and people on these discussion boards that H.I.T. is the way to go to pack on the muscle. Now i'm just in need of diet advice! I appreciate all help!!

How hard do you want to diet? and what do you expect to achieve? and in how long?

You can run, CKD (Ketosis based), isocaloric, low-fat, or a CRAZY fat-fast. It really depends on how hard you want to work, and what you want to achieve.

i'm looking to see some quick results, but i know with anything it is going to take time. what is a keto diet? and is it anygood for putting on muscle?

im kinda in the same situation. im 5'11". i used to be about 203 lbs..mostly fat. after 3 months of working out mostly, dieting..in no specific way, and starting to run, im down to 183..built more muscle. i could still drop about another 15-20 lbs to be happy, id like to do it in the next 2 months. is there any advice anyone has for me?

Read the link that Keiko posted, then once you choose the diet, I can help you with details and planning.

Ketonic diet is like "atkins", Fat/Protein ..low/no - carb...
Isocaloric is 33/33/33 , but I belive a 45/30/25 is a more feasible ratio. (protein/carb/fat)

to see results the fastest... atkins is really the way to go but it requires the absolutely most will power as this is one diet that you can not cheat on at all!

Hey mr. x i guess the isocaloric is the way to go for me. It may take longer to get where i want to be but it is worth it! i need carbs. i think it would be to hard for me to cut carbs out completly. anyway any help is appreciated!

Isocaloric diet is pretty simple, although I make my own alterations to it (not very much):
45/30/25 (protein/carb/fat), this ratio can work wonders. Now, as far as diet it self goes, you can eat carbs like oatmeal, brown-rice, sweet potatoes, yams, (beans if you like beans)-- go for low GI. Things like Fish (fatty fish is a good idea because it can forfill the protein and fat % of diet at the same time), plus, lean steak: Beef Eye of Round => 3oz. 140cal, 22g protein, 5 g fat...chicken breasts, turkey breasts, eggs (egg whites for protein). Flaxseed oil should be used at times to forfill the Fat requirements, I would also recommend about 1-2 tbsp of ALL NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER a day. (will help keep cravings down)

For healthy fats, you can also use: Grapeseed oil, canola oil, sunflowerseed oil, sesamese seed oil, (MCT which is not really a "healthy fat" but can be used for energy)
