Need advice on what to do with this lady

At a dinner party last week, this lady whom I know very little, mimmicked me at the dinner table for a comment that I made. I wrote her a nice email telling her that I would appreciate if she did not do that, and that I would respect her if she respected me. Well, she sends an email back to me and copies our friends in common, saying that I should start getting used to people not kissing my a... (I can't! I can't!) and that I should have told her face to face. Good thing I did not do it face to face, she confirmed my fears: a big scene. I see now that sending an email was a mistake, because words get misinterpreted, but this woman will be at several charity projects and dinners with me, and now I want to smack her! She is so difficult. What should I do?

Be the bigger person. don't mention it to any mutual friends and just avoid being seated within earshot of her in the future. She sounds like a crazy ass witch
