hey, i'm a skinny guy that just started 5x5. i'm working on my diet, but read that liquid calories go down easier than real food. obviously nothing substitutes for actual food, but what weight gain supplement do you guys suggest? i read that people on this forum suggest something called "big blast", but that only has 260 cals per serving? thats not much at all, so what is the story with this big blast supplement?

just eat more food bro, if you don't have an appetite trying doing some hiit for 10-15 after you finish with your 5x5, that should help spike your appetite. Whats your diet look like now

my diet isn't bad at all, i know what i have to eat to grow. it consists of the usual egg whites, ground beef, chicken breast, greek yogurt, wheat bread, pasta..etc..it just comes down to me having a tiny appetite and these shakes are much easier for me to force down.

idk bro food is always gonna be better than the weight gainer powders...if you need to add calories drink a glass of whole milk with every meal and get some better protein bars they're the bomb and have about 400 calories in each. I would also look into getting something to spike your appetite.....ghrp-6 etc.

Weight Gainers are going to be a waste like stated above. Look towards liquid calories like whole milk and calorie-dense foods (ex. peanut butter) to help pad your calories. Also, do you only eat egg whites? Crack some yolks in there as well. About how many calories a day are you getting now?

It's about calories , but if you want a weight gaining supplment, there's nothing better than BIG BLAST

People will recommend this or that but unless they have super plasma protein, P13 creatine, whole egg, EFA's and Nitric Oxide it isn't in the same category.

Whole eggs, there is no "bad" cholesterol in the yolk and its packed full of nutrients.
Add a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil to 3 of your meals. And 8oz of milk at the others.
Make sure you eat every 3 hours.
Natural Peanut butter is great.
Gainer shakes are not the right kind of calories that you need - most of the time coming from sucralose and fructose which are simple sugars that quickly turn to fat. Not all weight is equal.
Make sure you get your leafy greens for fiber. They will help you to excrete waste so your body can absorb all the nutrients it needs.
For a supplement I have heard that Saw Palmetto helps increase appetite but I have never tried it personally. Just be sure it is the berry and no other part.
A thiamine deficiency is often the cause of low appetite. Take a thiamine supplement along with B-complex, vitamin A, zinc, niacin, and biotin. These work well together and help in the assimilation of the thiamine.
And even try this. Find your favourite thing to smell. Before you eat, smell it for a minute or so. Appetite can be a thing of the mind and when you smell something you like it makes you happy. When your happy you like to eat. Thats why fast food resaurants make sure the air around the restaurant smells like the food - it makes people want to eat.
