just tore my upper right pec. Doc did mri says it is only half a tear and he does not see the need to do surgery unless it is a larger tear, he calls this a cosmetic surgery. I call it a short time till the tear is fully across my friggin chest. What the hell do I do? Do I have legitimate concern when half my right pec tears to want immediate surgery? I am out of Las Veags and am willing to travel to California, phoenix if necesary I need advice and help fast!!Thanks for your support.

Ok, now for a serious answer that you could use, a half tear, or micro tear they quite often call them WILL heal on their own. A full tear usually needs surgical intervention in order to repair it. Honestly I would seek a second opinion. Take your MRI to another doctor, preferably in a Sports Clinic and they can get a little more involved on healing time with and without surgery, and what you might lose by not having surgical intervention and just resting. Many times some therapy type movements and what have you can keep you going while the body repairs itself. Muscle unlike tendons can repair themselves quite well, or at least have to ability to do so in the proper environment. Consult a doc in a sports clinic first would be my advice. At least when any surgery is recommended by a sports clinic, it's NEVER called cosmetic, that's a good start.

Hope I didn't draw that out too long, but figured it would be more usefull than "quit working out" Let me know if you need anything else.

Some decent chest quy can repair it very easy, you can't lift either way, but I agree
have some stiches put in and be done with it, if your under 35, it will heal compelely and you will recover 100 percent.

I am right at that age beariar and will, god willing,. lift till they pry the cold steal from my dead hand, it isd my coffee, my place of peace, any thoughts on recovering any good doctors to resommend, any good advice on HGH, have never touched the stuff but what aI do know tells me it would be the perfect scenario for.

Gotta tell ya from my experience, I would do the surgery. I had a bad tear in my bicep/pec about 5 years ago. Doctor said that I do not need surgery, and would only lose approx 5% of strength on the left side. Well that was bullshit. It not only looks different, but when doing bench or military press my left side gives out way before my right. If I am using dumbelss I can bang out at least 3-4 more reps on my right side than I can with my left. Get a second opinion.

a freind of mine had a half tear of his left pec. I heard it pop when it let go. Turned black as hell. Took him to the hospital actually. He did not have surgery and made a full recovery. It is possible but you have to do exactly what the Docs tell you

Can't offer you any medical advice, but I can wish you good luck, and hopefully a fast healing process man.
