My Workout 10/02 (videos)

nice workout man...so is the mm style bench been workin out for ya?

Going to try my own thing. I can't bench twice a week, squat/dl twice a week, hit shoulders/lats, can't do all those things without getting sick, so I'm doing this simple routine:

Day 1 Bench Day
MM style, Low End one week, High End the next.

Day 2 Shoulders/Lats
Press, Row, Chins, Shrugs - exercises vary, but you get the idea

Day 3 Squat/Dead day
ME Squat/DL move
DE Squat/DL move
Work weaknesses, abs, lower back.

I'm not one to back off hitting a muscle group twice a week, but I'm going to try this out. MM and WSB guys will probably kill me. Take it this way, I'm using concepts from both and modifying them to suit me.

This is like a MWF program by the way.

wow mike strong! Can I ask you a quick question? Do you often go heavy on shoulders? I do same Standing Military press #'s as you, but I go heavy every week..... but you seem to go light and just have a heavy day once in a while?

To tell you the truth I've only just started up doing militaries. I was lazy for the past few months and worked on mostly bench moves :). That's one reason I'm posting my workouts now - to keep me on track.

I went light last week because I hadn't done a MP in so long I didn't know how much I could press. But I think rotating light days in is a good idea, esp. if you are feeling burned out.

im with bfold on this.

he told me a long time ago, it hard to make both your bench and ohp go up at the same time. if one goes up the other will probably stagnate or maybe even go down.

i have times when i focus on powerlifting, so i worry more about my bench. then there are times i stress the ohp, and my bench seems to just go blah!!!

lol

I don't necessarily agree. Maybe for you guys doing your events and the like, I can see that happening... I'd be interested to test my overhead...

As always Mike, nice vids :)

He told me the same thing, and I am finding that it is true. For me at least.

That has been my experience when I was doing overhead moves after bench. That's why I'm giving them their own day.

Nice day man;

Chins - SQUEEZE @ the top. Nice self spot with the knee-up.

MP - PERFECTO

Push Press - Can you take this from a side angle? Looks good from the front!!

Rows - Better every time man. Next week go for some explosive reps to mix it up if you like. Moderation is the key. These are "Yates" rows.

Looking good Mike!!!!

Thanks Hammer. I forget to squeeze on the chins. I'm just focused on getting my chin up there. Thanks for the tips - always appreciated.
