Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below My mom went and visited her sister yesterday in New Orleans. My Aunt's husband, my Uncle, has cancer. It is cured and he is getting back to normal. He has three sons. Two are 20 years old and one is 24. Anyway my Dad called me today at work and I knew when he called something was wrong. He told me Uncle walked in the backyard and shot himself in the head with a pistol. He is a great guy but I am pretty pissed. How can he do this with three kids, a wife of 30 years.........my Mom and my whole family is fucked up except for me and my dad. My mom and her sister are close, beyond close. My mom just called all upset and my uncle is going into surgery. Doc said he bullet hit his skull and ended up in the top of his head between his crown and his brain. This is fucked up. I bet my cousins feel like their world is over......

Experienced the same thing with a family member, but he used a high caliber rifle, instant RIP! Not a pretty site! Unfortunately I was the only witness to it!

Man its fucked up.......I am not even sad. I am so pissed. The two sons that are 20 are twins. Both made 30's on the ACT. The other son that is 24 is an engineer. They have their own family business. Everyone has though about suicide but I just don't see what is so bad about his life. Awesome family, plenty of money.......

My uncle waited till he thought everyone left but brad was still home. Heard the shot and walked outside and found his dad there shot in the head. Fuck I hope he doesnt die.

sorry man. truly the most selfish things one can do is take their own life. you should live your life for your kids if nothing else. my ex G/F's uncle shot himself in the jaw with a shot gun point blank. blew his jaw and half his face off, but he lived. Fubar!
Sorry to hear about that golfer. I would be in your same boat though I couldn't really feel sorry for him he knew what he was doing at the time. My dads best friend tried to commit suicide last year december 23rd. He went to his garage and tried to hang himself well his wife walked in and he was hanging there about dead. Well she picked up on him saved his life and he lived another 8 months as a vege until he passed away. I love my life to much to not want to be here anymore. When God wants to take me then it's time until then I'M RIGHT HERE BABY!!

It lasted only a couple of months, but during this time we were unsure as to whether or not she would live. She came out of her coma, albeit VERY slowly, and sustained an anoxic brain injury due to the few minutes she had her oxygen supply cut off.
She is doing quite well now, actually. Her speech is a little broken and her motor skills aren't 100%, but she is now a self employed business owner.

I'm with you that suicide is inexcusable. But, you need to give the guy a break. He may have had some serious issues with depression, and people are literally out of their mind when they are depressed. He may not have known what in the world he was doing. For Christ's sake, the guy just got finished battling a life threatening disease, and being pumped full of who knows what kind of drugs. You might never know what he was feeling or thinking at that time.
It's one thing to be disappointed in someone for that, but it's quite another to be an indignant asshole about it. For you to presume to know what he was feeling or going through in his situation is both naive and immature. I hope for your family's sake that you show a little more decorum with them than you have in this thread.

My ex's father blew his brains out in a Cathedral after he suffered a heart attack - at least that was the story sold to the newspapers. What they didn't say was that his wife of almost 30 years was fucking one of his farm labourers (25 y.o.). She continued fucking him of course after the guy was six foot under and naturally got everything. Moral of the story? Don't be so quick to judge - there may be many more issues simmiering under the carpet. I wish u and ur family well Golfer.

Sorry to hear that Golfer. It's weird that so many people who have everything to live for attempt suicide. At the same time worthless scum don't even entertain the thought. It's not fair.

Your uncles actions may be indicative of post trauma clinical depression. This afflicts many cancer survivors after they've run through the drugs and chemo.
