Flirting...hmmm...to me flirting can be with males or females although I'm not gay. I just like to point out the good that I see in others, make them happy, get a little laugh here and there. My fella KNOWS I'm a flirt. He enjoys my coquettish antics, thank goodness.

Flirting is good harmless fun, I think, so long as all parties know it is just innocent fun.

Harmless flirting can create good felings in tense situations. Sometimes, you can take those good feelings home with you to a jumpstart some fun.
IMO even though you love someone, there can still be attraction for others. This is what can create friendships. Like you said, you're not gay, yet there are still women you like, for almost the same reasons you would like a man, except for the sexual aspect. Like you said, when all flirters know it is harmless, then it can be fun.
