My TJ experience...

Why not just mail it back to your addy here in the states? That way you cross the border clean. That shit would be to nerve racking for me,I would be sweating like a whore in church!

I think lestat's got some good pointers, but I do believe that the cops/cab drivers, pharmacists, you name it, are all in on it together. But some of us don't have another viable option. Denkall var for around half of what you would get from someone else domestic. And heck, I don't even know anyone where I could get legit var for double the price. So next year, i'll be down there in a wig, sunglasses and a "viva mexico" tshirt!!!

I go down to TJ once a week to inject and walk back accross. I would never bring shit back. I sweat like a mofo just from the walk back and going through the border check. They always ask me the same thing "Did you get your shots in" I say "Yup" they then say "do you have any thing" I say "nope" and Im on my way. I just dont have the stomach to carry that shit accross. Some of the Pharmacies will mail you stuff for you to your house. I was doing that for a while but ended up getting scammed twice and now they say its just to tough right now.

This is where you're wrong. Trust me, I've been shopping there for years. The place is a bust. When was the last time you went? Things have changed. If things were the same as they used to be I would still be shopping there as their prices are by far the lowest you can get. It's not worth the risk and harrassment anymore. The cops stakeout that place and wait for gringos to go in and come out with their gear. The cab is not a safeheaven. The cabbies are in with the local police and share the bribe money with them.

I was there last Friday - no problems at all. I took a cab over there and had him wait out front while I did my business. I had everything concealed when I came out, and he dropped me off right at the place where they rent bikes. I've been shopping there for years.....knocking on wood.....no problems yet.

Also it was kinda of funny at the end of the night, it was the local mexican guy that we hung out with that basically was supporting us since we had no money. He worked at this club got us in and got us 3 rounds of drinks. We thought we were going to leave that night so we was going to give us the 10 bucks or so to get our car out of parking. I will admit that having this guy around probably was partial to blame for the problems. But at the same time the guy could have ditched us.

This guy was so supportive of your because he was probably in on the scam...These guys prey on newbie tourists. If people knew how corrupt it is there they would never go back (unless they were crazy lol ;) :insane: )

You guys need a clue.. take the bus into Rosrito.. it's about 20 mins south of TJ. The bus is like 5 bucks and no one will hassle you there.. the prices are better, and there are less assholes asking store clerks in TJ were the gear is.

Hey Virgin,

Can you give any more pointers/specific about Rosarito? That sounds like the way to go, though you still have to get it across.

This is a great thread, we need to get the real deal on TJ out there. Too bad there's no consensus!!

No the general members DO NOT need to know....It is best kept as private as possible imo...

The only advice I will give someone, is to be creative...

go down to puerto nuevo and have yourself a great lobster dinner for 20 bux w/ beer inc. then hit up rosarito for some gear... stay the night at la fonda, then bus it back next day... fun little evening.

Hey ZKaudio, thanks for the specifics. Glad to see not everyone's a knowledge-horder. I just got back from a 7 day cruise in the Yucatan and Central America. I don't know if the pharmacies in Cancun or Cozumel have gear but if they do, everyone should know that customs is a joke on these cruises. Getting on the boat at port, they x-ray your bag but don't look twice at you, and getting off they don't even check your carry-on bag. Could have been loaded to the gills if I knew where to get it.

Oh yeah, I got a killer lobster meal in Roatan which is an island off Honduras for $12.00!! 3 Tails with potatoes and cole-slaw... yummmm!
