My squat sucks

Though I have used a leg press far more than the squat for my legs (I thought it would preserve my lower back) there is a huge difference between what I can lift on those 2 exercices

Leg press : more than 300% of my body weight (that is 3 times my weight)
squat : hardly more than my body weight

What's wrong ?
 
The squat uses over 200 muscles.
Yeah, I've been doing the leg press a lot more than squatting for the same reason.

With squats, your whole body absorbs the weight, where as with leg presses, only your legs and ass does.

8 -12 reps on both

The power of modern day machines and the leverage you get, its no wonder we love them so much..I follow my squats with hacks and load the machine with 18 plates total (thats 810 lbs)..now do i squat 800? not even close lol..If you want to build ur squat do it first in your workout then hit the leg press!!
