I was looking into Solar energy for my house and received an estimate last friday. My house seems to be too small (the roof) to allow enough solar panels to go on there for adequate energy production.
That`s not what they told me, But I don`t want to chop off 33% from my bill. I was thinking at least 75% would be good. If my roof was built a little differently, It could have been from 60% to 100% off the monthly electric bill.
The cost to install the system was about $32,000 and the rebate was about $20,000. So it would have been approximately $12,000 out of my pocket, With the rebate as the installer`s last payment. Not too bad but I was going for more of a monthly savings.
If I ever redid my roof, Which I was actually thinking of doing about 2 years ago (to make a cathedral ceiling) I could maybe do the instal of the Solar electric.
Well that`s it. If I had a big peice of property like some of you guys have, I would definately look into it. I just don`t have the space.
