my shoulder . . . ouch!

i have been lifting intensely for about a month now. i am consuming the 1.5 gr of protien, putting more wieght on the bar, gaining wieght, and content with my progress.

i was doing bench on monday morning, and on my last, maxout -see-stars-in-your-eyes set i gave it absolutely 110% percent. upon standing up from the bench i noticed that my shoulder hurt. well, the bottom part of my shoulder muscle on my arm, right where it border the tricep. the pain was dull and in short bursts of less than a second. it went away after about 5 minutes. i continued my workout, including inclines and the fly machine without being bothered by my shoulder.
tuesdays back/bicep workout was fine. i take wed off and today(thurs) is shoulders. i do 10 min on the bike, a little stretching, and some pushups to warmup. after that i proceeded to military press. we warmed up with a little more than usual, but nothing strenuous. when i took the bar down, right about the level of my eyes, i felt a fierce muscular pain in my shoulder. i wasnt terrible, i comfortably returned the bar to the rack. i tried stretching out more, and did a set of just the bar which was fine. upon adding our normal warmup wieght however, i could feel it. it wasnt unbearable, but i figured my body was trying to say something. i did a very mild shoulder workout, and kindof took it easy on the tris. the thing that really iritated it was the machine where you kindof mimic the chikenwing thing, raising your bent arms to the side so your elbows point out away from your body. sometimes picking up a glass of water with a bent arm will make it hurt.

what should i do? or not do? how long will it take to heal? what is the problem? i am assuming i pushed myself to hard, and probably lacked form a little on the press, and thats what caused the injury, so i think i can prevent it from reoccuring, but i really dont want to interrupt my training for too long. getting my muscles back is sooooooooo nice!

thanks for the feedback, 4est.

your best bet is to take an hour out of your day to ask a specialist whats going on. I was too lazy to and skipped my physiotherapy and I'm tellin ya buddy I'm regrettin it

I'm fighting labrum tendonitis right now (ring of fibrous cartilage that helps stabilize the joint in the shoulder), and have been going to an ART speciliast to take care of it. ART is soft tissue therapy - here's a site with info:

ART has helped me through lots of tendonitus issues, and this is just the latest one. Today, my specialist taped my shoulder (looks lovely in a tank top) to help relieve some of the tension on the joint. And yes, I've fully recovered from my tendonitus issues with ART therapy - I just seem to keep screwing up new places. :-)
