My room went in flames

Hey guys I just thought some of you could know something about this

I'm a college student and my room burned down due to electrical fire. I was wondering, if I made a claim on my moms homeowners insurance, would her rate go up?

My other user name became inactive cause I haven't been here in months so that's why its my first post

Most colleges cover replacement costs of clothes, books, computer stuff.

this might be different but my house on campus (not in residence which might be key) got broken into and a bunch of shit got stolen... but it wasn't worth claiming insurance because my parents' insurance premium would have definitly gone up

I don't know we rented a house off campus, so I'm not so sure about that but I'll look into it.

it was just my room that got burned down to the ground in a 14 people house. Apperently my roomate was having a similar problem with his socket so it could be the landlords fault.

But yea I guess if the rates would go up it wouldn't be worth it. I had about 4-5k woth of stuff in there.
