My progress

OK, so I am 15 years old and I have been going to the gym regularly about 3 times a week for 7 months now. I have a pretty good workout schedule but before that, I worked out at home and didn't know much about lifting and didn't do as much as i do now, and i rarely even worked out at home. I took a picture of myself 13 months ago and i took one a couple days ago to see my progress. Last year i was 14 years old, 5'11 and 120 lbs. Now i am 6'0 & 1/2 and 145lbs. My goal is to reach 165 lbs by the end of 2009 NATURALLY. I haven't been motivated to reach 165 until about 3 months ago. i have put on 10 pounds in 2 months and it seems like i am at a good process. Tell me what you think about my progress. I am flexing in both pictures. and i know I'm a skinny kid, haha. NOW is on the left side and THEN is on the right.

Thank you, and be honest.

You are doing good bro. I was 6'2" and 150 lbs when I was 15. I was skinny just like you.

The biggest thing that will make ALL the difference for you is following a nutritous diet with TONS of protein and calories.

I know exactly what it is like to try and fill in a thin frame and it is all in the food.

You could easily do 165 by the end of the year with a solid diet.

Looks like you are filling in nicely. Especially in the shoulder/trap region, it looks much fuller. Make sure you are squatting!

Good work, little brother. Keep it up.

Echoing what Buff said, maintaining a good diet is going to make all the difference. You need to make sure you EAT.

I would read starting strength by mark rippetoe and start eating as much lean meat, fresh veges and milk as you possibly can...i wish i had all this great info available when i started lifting at 15.

nice improvement in the chest. I think you will be suprised at what you look like at 165lbs at over 6 foot, I think you will wanna be bigger but its all personal choice. We have been lifting about the same amount of time and around the same age bro. Nice to see someone else by age lifting :) Do you get all the crap from people about lifting stunting your growth aswell? lol

Thanks bro, and yeah, I have been watching my diet a lot and make sure i take in a lot of protein and other vitamins.

And to ExtraMile, no, I've actually never gotten the stunt growth-thing. And I think I'm basically done growing height wise. It's actually pretty unordinary that I am 6ft. Neither of my parents are tall, I tower over them.

Well, post up your diet and let's get you on a better path than you currently are on.

Also, post up your training routine. I hope you are lifting your legs. That's where the real big gains will come from.

Lol, I love the ignorance of people.

"Oh, look, that guy has some muscle on him. Must be steroids."

People are so ignorant sometimes. It couldn't be the fact that you train hard and eat right. Nope, that couldn't possibly be it.

Its cause when you look at the typical person my age they are either skinny or fat, Im the only one in my year who looks like this. Iv had fat kids come up to me and ask to help them get into shape before... lol. I get compliments all the time from teachers, relatives, girls, mates all that shit, I love it. Having to have my school uniforms ordered into the shop because the standard sizes are so tight u can see my nips through them is a bonus though ha ha

I'll post up my diet and routine later in the week, been studying for finals and crap haven't had the time. I don't really have a specific diet i just make sure i have a good, nutritious dinner, plenty of milk, protein bar, and some kind of fruit during the day.

That needs to change.

Whatd'ya recommend?

Well, I'd lik to see a meal by meal breakdown of what you are currently eating.

A complete overhaul on your diet is sometimes not realisitic when you are a teenager becuase 1) you don't have any money to buy your own food 2) your parents may not spend tons of money on food for you 3) you specifically can get away with not eating 100% clean foods and not putting on any body fat 4) teenagers are most likely not going to be able to follow a strict diet because of their daily schedules with schoool, sports, friends etc.

So, post up a meal by meal schedule and let's adjust it from there.

Example:

Breakfast: 1 cup of oatmeal with 3 eggs and big glass of milk

Snack: 1 protein shake, 40 grams of protein

Lunch: 2 chicken breasts with rice and vegetables and milk

etc.
