The difficult thing is though, the boundaries in these sorts of situations are very ill defined. What one person may pass off as innocence, another may see a conspiracy. And the worst part is, no one will know who is right, until a tragedy happens. So, do we sacrafice a little bit of freedom for more security? Or do we allow for greater freedoms but risk large scale tragedies? I think if you ask the students of Columbine, they would have chosen a restriction of freedom rather than a restriction of life. Now, I'm not talking about this gun drawing incident, this was ridiculous. But lets say, the boy drew a gun shooting a student? Can he be punished then? What if he talks about shooting a student? What if he draws plans for shooting up the school? Society is no longer cut and dry, and I think its a lot easier to judge from afar than it is when you are the one to have to make the decisions that make save or take lives.
