My non-AS strength gains are nuts!

For some reason my strength has been going through the roof, and without gear too! Before I took time off for my hernia, I was repping about 285lbs x 3 my last flat bench set. After taking a month and a half off, the weight dropped around 20lbs to 265lbs. Since I've come back, I've been gaining by leaps and bounds. I'm currently at 305 now. All these gains came in 1 month which is friggin amazing. I've not taken so much as a vitamin this whole time too! Also, my weight is unchanged.

A lot of natural body builders will take some time off when they it a platuae and then they can gain again. Weird but cool!

Sounds good buddy, I started to notice a loss in strength and took 2 weeks off and felt better then ever in the gym, it's a great feeling :fro:

I haven't pushed myself while squatting yet (only doing 225lbs for plenty of reps so far) since the hernia, but last week, it felt like I was squatting the bar, and my legs suck!

I'm practically getting wood just thinking about lifting each workout. :)

you were prob breaking down tissue alot faster then you were letting repair, and the break repaired all the tissue and now you are kicking, I would train less then what you where doing before. You will prob get better results, hopefully thats what it was, well enjoy it while it lasts

I usually take off 4-5 days in a row a month and it helps alot! I usually work out between 4-6 days a week, but when my body says NO, I listen! When I don't I'll usually wake up the next day with a cold and that's got to be catabolic!

Working out 4-6 days per week with High Intensity is no way for a Natural to train. Unless you are sleeping the rest of the day.

Cortisol will strip you of muscle and make you fat.

I decided to up the intensity and squat 315 today, and there wasn't a hint of pain from my hernia. I'll take it slow for a few more weeks, but I feel cured.

In the meantime, I will be saving up money for some gear.

you say ''My non-AS strength gains are nuts!''

I would say ''My non-AS gains are my nuts
''

ROTFLMAO!

I have had good strength gains from taking short periods off, but nothing that dramatic. That's great.

Watch that hernia but I think the mesh they use to repair a hernia is stronger than the rest of the abdominal wall, so at some point you should have no worries.
