My New Tuna Recipe

I have always eaten a lot of Tuna since getting in this game, but it usually was just for the protein benefits, it isn't like I have enjoyed it. Well I recently have discovered a new way to eat tuna and it is very tasty.

It is very easy to prepare. Just get a big old bowl and fill it up with fresh baby spinach leaves. Open up a can or two of tuna and pour it on. Add a little pepper, a lot olive oil, red vinegar, and the secret ingredient Hawaiian Teriyaki Sauce. Stir it all up and enjoy. I have been eating this two or three times a day and it has by far become my favorite meal. I add fresh tomatoes and onions too.

I like tuna/eggs salad. 1 can tuna, 2 hardboiled eggs, a little relish, 1 Tbsp of light mayo mix in some steamed brocoli with melted fat free cheese on top... good stuff. I like to add a Tbsp of Olive oil to increase cals.

Sounds good. I seriously need to try it, cause eating tuna straight from the can is starting to get old. I can't even look at the stuff without shuddering anymore.

I have to try that recipe also - I eat tuna so fast its not even funny - hate it - I usually put some fat free cheese on it - let it melt - but the above recipe with the hardboiled eggs and relish seem great.

If I see a recipie with more than four ingredients, I just skip right over it. This is all you need:

Tuna
FF mayo
relish

Trust me on this. I actually look forward to eating it.

I'm the usual tuna and relish as well, sometimes some mayo.

My new favourite is tuna with sliced dill pickles for that extra bite rather than relish.

Tuna mixed with tatziki is also great. Throw in some cucumbers and alfalfa sprouts.

I sometimes mix tuna into a bowl of cottage cheese.

Right now i am eating 4 cans of tuna mixed with half a small jar of mild salsa mixed in one of those tupper ware type things. Tastes a lot better than I expected it to.

I always eat tuna with pickles too, it gives it more crunch.

here's what i just did and it tastes pretty damn good.

1 can tuna
about a half dollar size squirt of ff mayo
2 spoonfull's of dill relish
a couple shakes of celery salt and garlic powder

it's not bad, then again i don't mind tuna either so i guess i'm a little on the weird sid :alien:

Seriously Everyone Try this: Tuna with Country Bobs Sauce!!!!
You can go to the country bob's website and get a coupon in the mail for a FREE bottle, i did it twice! This stuff KICKS ass, and all the grocery stores have it. It tastes like a sweater A1 sauce. I first tried it on steaks, and it was amazing. Last night i was in the dorm and just popped a can of tuna and decided to dip it in mustard. Well as usual i was forcing it down, when i saw my BOB's sauce. On the bottle it said, steak, chicken, ......... and FISH. I thought WTF dip tuna in the same thing my steak goes in, hmmm. Well i tried it and loved it! I actually ENJOYED the tuna, FIRST time EVER!

Hey, I just get tuna from subway when I don't feel like eating from the can. It just tastes so much better at the subway near me. Every other place sucks, this one location kicks ass. I get a side cup of pickles, and baked lays chips to go with it, and just wash everything down with water. Soon I'm going to cut out the chips probably.

I also do not like the tuna straight from the can. So, I just drain the water and empty the can into a bowl and mix some mustard with it. It is a very cheap way to add lots of taste. Since mustard is so spicy it really masks the taste of the tuna. If I get tired of that, then I just mix the tuna with some spaghetti sauce and heat in the microwave. This also tastes pretty good.

ever try warming tuna in a frying pan with soy sauce, oregano, some salt an a bit of minced garlic (I use that pre-minced bottled garlic you can buy cause I'm lazy and don't wanna mince my own)??? put a bit of peanut sauce on it, and its nice and tasty....

my favourite though is either tuna and HP steak sauce, franks redhot sauce, or tuna/mayo/dill relish combo

do you guys eat like the top end pure white tuna, or "light" or the scrapings from the wharf gutters, or what? I use to always get the "chunk white" stuff, but its like $1.50/can where I live, so I started gettin the "light" which is only like $0.70/can..... I don't notice a whole tonne of difference.. what do you think???

I use to get the Pure Albacore Tuna, but now all I can afford to get in the Plain Tuna in Spring Water. It isn't nearly as good, but it is less than half the cost of the Albacore.

I definitely prefer the white albacore, but sometimes I goof and get the darker stuff. I'll eat it, but the albacore is less fishy and dryer.

I haven't eaten a single can of tuna for over a year. I'm thinking that I should get back in the habit though. The stuff is good for you. One summer, I worked in the woods and all I ate was 4 tuna sandwiches, 4 bananas, and 4 granola bars every day... That's what killed it for me. These ideas I'm hearing actually make me think I could eat it again!

I haven't eaten tuna for MONTHS....

.... mainly because I don't dare eat it without some other ingredients added to mask the flavour, and my CKD diet doesn't allow me to have carbs. So it doesn't leave me with much to add....

.... but as soon as I'm done with the diet and I'm on a maintainance one, I'll get back into the tuna and I'll definitely be trying some of these recipes.
