My neck and my traps

My whole neck is so god damn sore. Both sides are tender to the touch and around to the back of the neck as well. It hurts to move my neck. My traps also are in pain just from touching them. Not to mention my whole upper chest and back area.

Could my neck really be sore from lifting?> I dont think I ever remember my neck being sore like this. I thought it was from sleeping on it weird. But then I realized that my whole upper body is killing me.

All I did was hang cleans, push presses and pullovers. I admit that Im having longer than usual recovery times as I havent been training as hard as I have in th past.

Has anyone else ever had a very sore neck after lifting?
 
most likely the hang cleans.

Advil, icing and heating, and rest are probably your best options. Oh and acrobatic sex is probably out of the question too.
 
i get a lot of neck pain after i bench, that's because i'm mildly retarded and arch too hard and drive my upper back and neck into the bench. but yeah, when i do cleans and shrugs, i get way sore. to the point of bad sleep because of it. i wouldn't fret too much, the weather becoming so shitty that quick had a lot of people aching.

Only one thing gets my neck and traps in a knot, stress and aggrivation.
 
when my boobs hang lower than normal mine get stiff and sore also,so you might want to check that.

I've had neck stiffness after an all-out lifting session. Once after going for a deadlift PR I spent the next day in bed with migraine. Lifting is self-induced stress and stress is often reflected in overall tension.
