My Log

Try Trap Bar Deads if your gym has a trap bar-- Great exercise- i prefer over regular deads

I can see that and I get why some guys like it better. But IMHO it doesnt hit the back as much when you can pick the trap bar straight up as opposed to having to get the bar over the front of the knees and then use the back muscles to really finish off the rest of the rep.
With the trap bar, to me, its like doing squats but starting at the bottom instead of the top. Meh...whatever works though.

If My legs are too sore from leg day I go with knee height rack pulls. Its the "back" involved portion of the deadlift. Nothing made my back and traps as big, thick and strong in the past like 600+ lb rack pulls.

You should try snatch grip rack pulls.
Great back exercise- I just started using them-its awesome

i think the knee height rack pulls would be the best bet for me. my weak point in a dead lift is the bottom foot or so. i just cant bend that well.

i remember when i was in rehab i started deadlifting for the first time and i was lifting over 200lbs, but i had the barbell propped up a good 3 - 6" off the ground. it made a world of a difference, and i still felt it the next day in my lower back and glutes.

also! could you guys go and check out my *updated diet plan on my diet thread? i would be interested to hear how else i can improve it. i am about to head to the grocery store.

You still should work your legs. Rack pulls isn't enough.
Stiff legged deads, leg press, hack squats, front squats, lunges.
Many options that won't irritate your lower back- and work on strengthening your lower back (by doing stiff deads, squats..etc)

i will def still work my legs. like i said i switched legs to wednesday now, so i will have no excuse to not hit legs with this new routine.

my biggest problem is i cant get my fucking chest to grow! :( i feel like if my chest would just fill out i would look proportionate you know??

it's fucking embarassing the way my chest looks actually. prob my biggest 'insecurity'

i'm hoping with the addition of this dbol starting next week (should be here by next week atleast) i might be able to see some quicker results. it's fuckin discouraging when everything else on me is growing and getting bigger and i still got the same weak chest. (even though my strength on chest exercises has sky rocketed)

You might be overworking your chest or it could be genetics. either way you can overcome both of those. Try to mostly stick to incline movements for the chest.. its the best for it imo. Start off with incline barbell 5x6-8 incline db 3x6-8 weighted dips and possible some flat db press.

To counter Evan--are you having a mind-muscle connection when you do your chest work? A lot of ppl just end up with shoulder/Tricep activation instead of chest.

This might be the problem.. I can flex my chest when i do like cable flys, or db press... I feel like flat bench ends up all on my shoulders though mostly...

My chest is fucking embarrassing :/ i wish i could post a pic of it lol

i hit 225lbs on the bench press 3 times today with no spotter. that's pretty crazy. especially since it was at the end of my routine!

i had taken a 10mg dbol about 1hour before i left for the gym. first day of taking it so i'm not sure if it even kicks in that fast. might have been placebo effect.

No the dbol wont start working for a few days and really starts going after a week. This was the test working.

i wonder how much progess i would have made up to this point if i hadn't chosen to use juice. my weight really hasn't changed at all, granted i wasn't eating for gains... but now that i have a good routine going, and a dialed in diet planned out... i wonder how fast my body will start to transform without the use of AAS??

A beginner with a solid program can average about 15lbs a year of muscle. Your first year is the best in terms of fast gains then it gets slower year by year. My first month of training my bench went up 50lbs, now 50 lbs could take years and might never happen. The important thing is to stay focused and disciplined year after year, and enjoy the ride.

whats the rush?

fast gains don't stay around as easy as slow quality gains.

at 6 3 i would say you could easily get to 215-220 with 13-15% body fat naturally. and easily hit 300+ on the bench naturally.

muscle IS NOT easy to build, if it was everyone would be muscular. however fat is easy to build.

you let people convince you that steroids were some magic pill, now you are realizing they aren't. they are just hormones which you naturally produce on your own anyway, you are merely adding more. it takes years to build quality muscle mass. not 1 cycle

Dude you are the last one on this board who should be telling people what to do.

don't you realize jackass comments like that perpetuate the notion that aas leads to aggressive behavior, so is not fit for use even by responsible adults?

Why am I even trying...

You need to hit your back harder criminal.
(Just saw your 50 something day update)

Also, keep in mind, with cycle, you'll be holding some water so you're not quite as full in muscle as you may look

I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility.

really? i thought my back was actually showing the biggest signs of improvement. i should have done a full 360 in the vid-update. oops.

and i know i'm holding excess water right now, i knew that would happen especially when adding dianabol to this cycle.

question though, after this cycle is over would it be wise for me to cut cals (keep protein high) and go to an immediate cut and try and drop my bf down single digits??

or do u think i should try and maintain weight for as long as possible?

i read the reason people lose their gains after cycleing is bc they dont pct properly. and when elevated levels of estro are present, (estro being catabolic) your body loses muscle quickly.
so i would think that as long as i pct proper, and get my natural test back to normal, i could esseintailly cut and not risk losing any more muscle than i would cutting if i had never even cycled....

does that make sense? and this is prob the wrong spot for this post. sorry.

Back to invisible touch- At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock.

i read advice to someone somewhere, that the best thing to do when building mass is to "chase the pump"...

i was kind of getting frustrated with my workout routine, not really hitting all the muscles i want to and it just felt like it was kind of restricting me. so i threw away the pen and paper, and i'm now just "chasing the pump" so to speak.

pretty sure i have a better idea of what kind of exercises build the most muscle, compounds and what not.

correct me if i am wrong, but if i focus on compound movements and stick to the 10-12 rep range i should be maximizing hypertrophy. correct?

also i have dropped all the heavy weight lifts and i am focusing on low weight, perfect form, and mind-muscle connection. i saw this great video from kai greene on youtube that kind of inspired me to drop the heavy shit. focus on body building, not "weight lifting"

( Kai Greene - I'll Never be A Weightlifter. - YouTube )

what are yalls views on these ideas :)

I believe lifting lighter with intensity/mind muscle contraction is 10x better for building mass/muscle. hell look at DC training. Contraction is the key. Sure its good to switch it up and get strength gains sometimes.. So you can move more weight controlled later on. Contraction always beats lifting heavy.

come at me bro

what does that even mean?

Back to Whitney - Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? Did you know that criminal?

It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, criminal, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.

JS quite articulate, and well played young man! Prime example of "let me patiently fuck with you" while guiding you to an understanding! Haha I love it!!!

Well I'm glad somebody here appreciates the classics.

Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
