.personally the sea weed prop on the left had side of the pic is a little too much, you could probablycould do without it.

It is tall but it is not thick/wide. I like it because it somewhat covers up the plastic tube on the side that leads to the undergravel filter. Also, it's directly in front of the hanging power filter, so the plant sort of waves around due to the current up there.

Can't wait to get my fishies. Going to get some Rosey barbs to start, then some X-Ray tetras and buenos aires barbs. Dunno what to get after that, but in the end I will have about 18-20 little guys and a huge pleco eating up all the mess they make.

I am disappointed that you don't have one of those funky deep-sea diver figurines....

...apparently, beyond being eye-candy, they serve the practical purpose of providing aeration (if properly fitted with an air pipe...)

I am disappointed that you don't have one of those funky deep-sea diver figurines....

The only reason I don't have one is because PetSmart didn't have them in stock. =) Going hunting for one tomorrow while I exchange my heater. Going to get one of those submersible heaters with the pre-set temperature gauge instead of this crappy "turn the knob till you eventually find what you need" POS. That's what I get for trying to save $5.

It sounds like you know what you're doing...

Aquariums give me bad memories...I bought one as a Christmas present for my ex....and I really went all out ---> bought a very nice cherrywood stand, expensive Fluval filter, etc., - I spent hours setting it up and teaching her own to maintain it and clean it, etc., --- and wouldn't you know it , a week after we broke up she sold the damn thing.

But yours will probably bring you YEARS of enjoyment and positive experiences!!

I actually don't know shit past the information I was given. I've been harassing this very helpful dude over e-mail like twice a day for a week or so getting as much info as I can. I'm probably the most educated newbie there is thanks to this guy.

My mom was sitting there in awe watching me set up all the shit... saying it was all confusing with assembling the filter and cleaning the gravel yada yada yada. One of the funnest experiences of my life. Got a real sense of accomplishment.

Can't wait till I get my fish. Going to get my first three in a week and the tank should be fully stocked by April.

oh, lol, you DO have a background!all black background looks nicer IMO

I have a background. You can't see it that well because a) the tank is dirty as hell due to new tank syndrome... gravel dust all over the place even though I washed it for like 3 hrs before putting it in... should be clear in a week. Also because b) I didn't use the flash to avoid reflection of the light.

Black backgrounds do look nice... maybe I'll change it some day if I tire of the current one.

Nice tank warick. PM Thick Dog he is into tanks big time. I'm setting up an new fresh water tank next weekend because my kids loved looking at the fish at my inlaws house. It'll be a small one in there room.

It has been proven that looking at aqua modules (and the fish) reduces blood pressure. That's why you see a lot of them in doctors waiting rooms etc. So, it would be the anti-side for parabolan.
