My CPU is 175F, how bad is this?

Slap a steak on that puppy and let's eat. Athlons always run hot, which is why I don't like them. I don't have AC so I have no way to get rid of the heat. As long as you have an Athlon-rated fan on it that should be fine. My Intel Xeons run a good 50F cooler than that.

my motherboard was shutting down at 126 degrees last summer. i ended up putting a new CPU fan on and adding a 2nd case fan to help out. even then i was hitting 110degrees easily. then we got AC and my temp dropped to mid-high 90s.

What this sounded like to me:

Blah blah blah blah blahblah blah blah STEAK blah EAT. Blah blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah.Blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah. Blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah. Blah blah blah blah blah blah.

It's near the maximum tolerance of the CPU so I'm sure you'd wanna look at whats wrong, see if theres a lot of dust accumulated on the heatsink or look into getting a new heatsink all together, email me if you want me to point you in the right direction.

Actually, I must respectfully disagree. I believe that his RAM space is filled to capacity with megabyte data storage. Perhaps he needs to run a DOS on his CPU harddrive in order to extract those files, be they .pdf or .doc, that may be infected with a virus. You see, the 952c capacitor is most likely not running the same program as the 1684d processor. With only 1.6GHz available, he probably has an XGA ATI set up. There is no way he is going to integrate a 2100 WLAN with that setup! HA! Maybe he should look into a 802.11b condragulator with 11Mbps!! HA!

(this was all said in the voice of the nerdy professor on The Simpsons).

Hmm. i took the side of the case off and used a regular fan to bring it down to 127 now. What kind of heatsink should i look at? They all look the same at pricewatch, i dont know anything about them.

my CPU fan is working at about 6000 RPMs and has been so i dont know if there is anything wrong with it.
