My comments about DannyAlamonte (this is for Laserdude too)

When I said I was disgusted about Danny Alamonte and his situation I think I have the right to say such things because of MY background.

It is simply retarded how we let this kid (who's parents are obviously shady fucks) play little league baseball and to represent out country in the Little League World Series.

Baseball is the american pastime.. Still is. It represents a lot what right AND wrong with America these days. Regardless of the fact, its STILL the symbol of America and America's youth.

What danny Alamonte and his parents did to ruin the name of the sport is terrible. He deserves every negative thing written about him and his two parents.

The kid is 14..the little leaguers are 12..BIG difference speaking in terms of male physical maturity. I mean this fucker got on ESPN and SPORTSCENTER for this bullshit he pulled..when they thought he was TWELVE! When other real twelve year old kids playing little league this year in the tournament probably deserved the attention.

Back a few years ago when the PHillipines and Taiwan little league teams had older kids, our media thought it was the fuckin shame of the world. Well no more calling the kettle black people.

The fuckin kid couldnt even speak ENGLISH when he got interviewed! What kind of shit is that? If you play LIttle League for the States, fuckin speak english for christ's sake.

English is the official language of this country--its called assimilation--either assimiliate or get the fuck out.

I can say all this because my parents are immigrants. My dad came here 30 years ago without knowing barely shit..What did he do? Learned and assimilated the best he could. He knew he HAD to--he had no choice. Now he is a relatively sucessful private business owner in redneck country.

Fuckin Danny Alamonte. Send his ass back to the dominican where his momma hand wrote his birth certificate adn shit..fuckin dumb ass bitch.

As far as your rant about immigrants you have no
special right to be an ass just because your parents were immigrants.

There are thousands of people in this country who
can't speak english, and they suffer for it everyday.
They will eventually learn the language.

I use to know this girl whose parents came here from Italy, her grandparents came with them.
Her grandfather never could speak english very well,
but everybody knew that he would give you the shirt
off his back.

Personally I would rather be around him than some
of the asses that were born here.

Bravo. I’m glad to see someone had the cojones to stand up and say how they felt about this situation – even though their opinion will most likely be met with resistance and derogatory name calling. The fact that your family faced a similar circumstance (immigrating to this country) – they did not let this obstacle slow their attempt to assimilate into the American culture (while I’m sure they held onto some of their own customs and beliefs).

Whether the Alamonte family did OR did not maliciously lie – the fact remains they were/are in the wrong and deserve the punishment administered out to them by the governing bodies of both the Little League World Series and the U.S. Gov’t (for their expired visas).

Seriously, I played baseball my whole life, and little league was the best cuz all your friends are playing for fun--thats it..no money, fame, nothing..

ITs sad to see someone disgrace something that I think many people hold dear (childhood dreams of baseball)..

If anybody thinks that there was nothing wrong with what that family did, they got something wrong with them..i'm not hte most patriotic guy in the world, but cheating is just plain wrong..

There were plenty of REAL american kids (regardless of nationality or race) that wanted to live out their dreams this past year...and it was ended by someone who KNEW they were cheating..for a kid to claim he didnt know he was 14, is ludicrous

I guess only those who played little league like myself and looked up to such hero's back in the day as Eric Davis, Wade Boggs, ROger Clemens (red sox days only GRRR), Chris Sabo, Will Clark (giants days) and Jose Canseco (hahha shut up!), and Mike Greenwell (remember that guy??) can understand what the baseball dream was about..

Sacred sport, with nothing but innocence when you're a little leaguer..

its a shame about this kid, he probably feels bad, but only cuz he got caught..

It is my belief that this kids parents should be tortured in the following manner.

First off, the kids father should be given a vasectomy with a rusty pair of tin snips. Next, his mothers fillopian tubes should be laid across a wooden board and used as a cello while the star spangled banner is played on them by yo yo ma. Once the tune is finished, they should both be clubbed over the head and brought to a remote area where they can be anally violated with the baseball bats of the children whose little league teams where eliminated by this little ruse perpetrated by these grown adults. Next, I would like to spend 15 minutes in an open game reserve with the father of this child. All I ask is for a crossbow, a nailgun, and a buck knife for when I finish. Is it just me or does anyone else hate when a parent uses a child. My alcoholic father used to use my butt for a penis cleaner, but that story is for another time.

As for the fact that the kid cannot speak English, I could not care less, there is no official language in the US and he isn't talkin to me so he could speak swahili for all I care.

I agree that it was wrong of his parents to have him sit out of school for a year. As for a supposed "language barrier," that's ridiculous. In NYC, there are hundreds of kids who barely speak English, yet they go to NYC schools. There are bilingual programs to educate them.

English is the UNOFFICIAL language of the United States. Congress has never passed a law stating that English is the official language. I'm on the fence as to whether a person should have to learn English when they immigrate to the U.S. There's no doubt that it's extremely helpful. And when I have lived in foreign countries or when I travel, I do attempt to learn and to speak that country's native language. I don't expect any people in that country to speak English to me (although they usually are willing). But I have an advanced education. I'm not sure that most immigrants have sufficient education to learn a foreign language. And English is the hardest language to learn.

Suffice it to say, I think we should blame Danny's parents for this dishonesty. Danny is a kid, who, like most of us, aren't going to disobey our parents commands. What they did was outrageous.

Obviously if you move to this country you should learn the language as best as you can. I wouldn't move to Mexico without knowing Spanish.

As for the Little League incident, I can't understand why someone would bother recruiting players in the first place, let alone lying about their ages.
I used to play for the Barbousville Little League in the tiny town of Barboursville WV. Their team frequently makes it to the little league tournament in Florida. They were one win away from going to the world series a few years ago. They pull legit 11 and 12 yr. olds from a population of about 7,000 people.
