My Car Got Broken Into!

The bastards took 150 cds, a cd player, two ten inch subwoofers, a pair of Ray Bans, a set of Callaway X12 Pro Series, a Titleist Driver, new Callaway bag, Minolta Freedom 140 camera, and more. Police totalled the value of the stuff at $3,905.

Anybody have experience with this? I think very little will be covered under my auto policy, maybe just the cd player. What about homeowners? If you have stories where you were successful in making a claim and getting most of your stuff paid for, please share.

I've had it happen twice. Nothing of major value was ever taken, but the car was totalled basically. The police never even made it out to talk to me. They let me file my phone report, and that's about it.
