My car accident story

So I was driving through the ghetto last Friday, and was sideswiped by someone, who of course was on a cell phone. Needless to say being pissed was an understatment.

I called the cops to make a report for insurance reasons. They show up about 30 mins. later laughing stating that they don't make reports at the scene of an accident anymore, in order to process the report it needs to be done at the nearest precinct, which was an additional 20 mins. away.

Once at the precient it took an additional 2 hours to get the report done. It wasn't busy and I think that the cop who was filling out the report was a little more involved with his Almond Joy candy bar and his Nutter Butter cookies.

The driver of the other vehicle did stop and wait for the cops, and he apologized twice for being at fault. Which goes to show that even in the bowels of the US there are still some good people out there, who accept responsibility for their actions.

Interesting.
In Vegas the motorcycle cops will investigate at the scene of an accident if over $500 (I think) damage occurred and it's on public property.
On private property (parking lot) there has to be an injury for them to show up.
It's always a good idea to have some kind of camera in your vehicle to take pictures at the scene.

Yeah, I thought that was odd as well. The damage was well over $5,000.

You know the funny thing is I did have acamera in the glove box but I forgot it was in there. I think I put in in there about 3 years ago.
