My blood work,

Zuperman

New member
Ok, So I went to my doctor and told her I get headaches and eyes hurt and that I think that my pituitary gland is getting bigger so its putting pressure on my eye nerves.

So she took off all my clothes, check me out,
then Told me to get my bloodwork done,
this is what it says,
CBC
TESTOSTRONE LEVELS
ESTRDIOL
ESTROGEN
LIPID PROFILE
TSH
PROLACTIN
IGF-1
V-70-0
784.0
253.9
661.1
SERRUM LEVELS,

She said when she gets the results she will go from there.

BTW i'm natural.

so what do u think guys? good idea? good trick?
and what do you think she is looking for in this tests? I have no Idea.

this is what it says,

CBC - complete blood count - red and white blood cells, haemoglobin and a lot of calculations based on the number of cells
TESTOSTRONE LEVELS - Part of the hypothalmic pituitary adrenal gonad axis
ESTRDIOL - same as above
ESTROGEN - same as above
LIPID PROFILE - cholesterol, triacylglyceride, HDL/LDL
TSH - thyroid stimulating hormone, again released from the pituitary, if this is abnormal, they will also measure T3 and T4
PROLACTIN - This is the most important hormone in the profile, if it is high, it could be a pituitary tumour called a prolatinoma. If you prolactin levels are high, also make sure you have a macroprolactin. IGF-1 - probably an easier way to check GH levels, that GH is actually there
V-70-0 - I have no idea what this is, nor the rest, it could be a lab code
784.0
253.9
661.1
SERRUM LEVELS - this means the blood tests are being done on a serum rather than a plasma sample. Just a different blood tube.

She is checking that your hypothalmic-pituitary-adrenal-gonadal axis is working correctly, if there are any hormone imbalances, and specifically checking for a prolatinoma.

Some of the other tests, like CBC and lipids are fairly routine. I am surprised she didn't order a BUN as well.

Did she take your blood pressure?

She is pretty much casting out a net and checking for anything that might be abnormal.

thanx for the Reply TAT!

she made checked blood pressure and made me make cirles with my eyes, looked in my eyes, whats a BUN??

Its the thing you sit on, j/k

The BUN test is primarily used, along with the creatinine test, to evaluate kidney function under a wide range of circumstances and to monitor patients with acute or chronic kidney dysfunction or failure

When you guys say blood work is that referring to getting a blood test done and the results that come back?

He has asked what the tests are that the doctor has requested.

He doesn't have the results yet.

Just remembered something else for TFT/TSH.

If you are hyperthyroid, you can have eye symptoms, in particular a disease called Graves develops.

Hyperthyroidism also affects the lipid levels, higher cholesterol.

Cholesterol makes all of the sex hormones, test, E2.

There are very few definitive answers in clinical chem, you have to look for patterns.

A lot of the time a total test is ok, I am going to have to look up why a lot of UK labs have abandoned SHBG and bound and free test.
