my bench sucks

ive always had a week bench its funny.... i swapped from db back to bench tday and Got 225 for 8 reps .... I really suck....funny how I deep squat 500....f'n genetics...
 
i have a really solid chest and its shaped well but is by far my weakest muscle group for any bb benching. dbs i go higher weight and reps. bb is very limiting for me.
 
yeah its just an ego thing i guess. everyone wants to push up heavy weights but in the long run if you bench 90 lbs and have a huge chest who cares.... I do Incline db press with 120's for 7 reps and flat with 120's for 5 reps as of 2 weeks ago .... im 6'2 and I have long ass arms...maybe thats it cause I hold a very very wide grip on bench and behind the neck press... almost all the way to the end of the bars... but who knows lol

umm ya i wouldnt be happy with a huge chest and bench 90lbs but 225 for 8 is respectable weight imo, how much would you say is a good bench? you should make that your goal and make it happen!
 
Im the exact opposite of you man. My bench is pretty decent for my size and age, but I can never seem to squat that much.

i feel your pain...blew my knee out, not sure it will ever get right at my age...so i bench and wear baggy shorts and gotta put up with the hate lol
 
If you wanna up your bench change your routine drastically. What does your chest routine look like now and what reps are you doing????
 
my progress is going very nice on my bench right now no platu but i know its comming soon and when it does ima drop my weight down to 60%of my max and bring my grip closer in and consentrate on my back arms to try n push me past it...stold that of a idea from tsc futures post, im determined to hit 4 plates going for 355lbs tonight...i can find you that link if your interested nakavalna

Keep at it,,dont give up. Stick with a solid regimen. You may try switiching your workout routines up...some movements you will go stale on if you continue too long.
