My Apologies

Certain gentlemen, such as wyst, musclebrains, and others, do not seem to agree with the way I present and defend my views in some respects. They claim I am not sufficiently "empathic." After careful consideration of the word "empathy," I have concluded that they are somewhat inaccurate in their belief that I am not sufficiently "empathic." As a matter of fact, I'm not "empathic" at all.

I am able to listen to an argument and its comments, no matter how insulting or offensive they appear, and analyze the substance rather than the uniform. Others, I understand, may not be able to do this so easily, especially when the uniform is insulting to them.

I do not apologize, nor will I ever apologize, for what I have said or will say. I believe it to be true, and I believe that I have as much right to believe it as others do to disbelieve, or even portray, it. I do, however, apologize for the way I presented, and will possibly present, in the future, it.

Some tend to find antagonizing what I, even when directed towards me, find amusing. With this in mind, I will try to "play nice," so to speak, in the future.

Do not, however, expect me to turn into a bed-wetting liberal... er... I mean an "avid supporter of that grand Democratic party!"... and take back everything I said, because I won't.

And definitely don't expect me to be more "empathic" and start knowing and caring about what everybody thinks and feels. I'll leave that to Counsellor Troi.

Nicely put; I don't expect everyone (or even anyone, in many cases) to agree with me, especially the borderline fascist...er...morally responsible conservatives among us! I think and hope we can agree to disagree and still have interesting discussions.

Actually, they are working quite well... I just never look at them. Note to self: Examine gender icon prior to labeling someone as a gentleman.
