Muscular endurance (anaerobic)?

Besides AS, what can a fighter take to help them with endurance. I have a friend that needs info. If the fight doesn't end in the first two rounds, he gets
gassed. He is in great aerobic shape. Just finished
a comprehensive stress test and he has no problems
with aerobic endurance. He went 15 minutes on stress test and got his heart rate up to 191. He is 210 now @ 7% body fat (tank and 7 pt caliper).
He expels alot of energy using his upper body to much. He runs like the wind and can easily run for an hour. Fighting hard and running are two different types of endurance. Stimulants seem to be counterproductive. They seem to make him exhausted sooner?

Got any ideas Pot. carbon.?
Kynoselin (sp.)?
Aspirin?

e/p/o....but it can be dangerous--like assume room temp dangerous if he gets really dehydrated or takes too much.

depends on the length of the endurance needed. but if u time it right e/c will do the trick. no need for the aspirin for this application imo.

I use the c/a/e stack before a fight, and it does me pretty good. I take it about 30 min. before I get in the cage.

I like the logo. I have a No Holds Barred sweatshirt with that.

Very true that fighting and running are different. Cardio is very specific. It is the reason why you can train very hard on one type of cardio event, like running, but then be completely gassed swimming or riding a bike, etc.

Running straight for an hour is fine and all, but in the ring is he running a straight line for an hour?

I would think that anything that more closely duplicates the bursts of energy would be beneficial. If you took running for example, I would think that even running track repeats of 400 meters at full bore would be more beneficial than long cardio. However, the long cardio is good to keep up the "aerobic base."

So in saying that, variation should be the key. Sprints, stairs, punching the heavy bag straight for 1 minute, jumping rope, swimming lap sprints, and long runs.

He's going to have to get that upper body involved in his cardio to change this.

Take what you want from this, I'm not a fighter, and didn't wrestle in high school, but I can't remember a single sport that we just did long runs.

You have to work on aerobic conditioning, lactate threshold, and VO2 max. So, again, variation.

Halo can be used for increased aggression, which can help lead to more adrenaline in the ring, thus lasting longer. I know halo and cheque drops are loved by the fighting world.

Be sure to tell him to stay away from tren. Its pretty detrimental to cardio and most get winded fairly easy on it. Even the experienced cardioholics.

Unfortunantly for your buddy, there isn't really a steroid thats going to help his endurance. Steroids can help to gain mass, maintain mass while on a calorie deficit, and to help lose fat. Theres a few other pros, but enhanced endurance isn't one of its niches.

St8grad had some excellent ideas.

Interval training of sprints to jogging. Your body has to be conditioned to what your heart does in a fight. Core training (cardio) will be better for fighting than running but running has to be done. One month I did no cardio training other than swimming. Absolutly no mat work. I was swimming as fast as I could for 1 minute at a time and resting for 30 seconds. When I just couldn't any more I would follow this up with treading water in the deep end for 5 minute intervals. When I got back on the mat everyone was asking me what I had changed as I was so much stronger.
