Why don't I just give you a whole basic program. You need to learn how to do the exercises first (i.e. before you start lifting hard).

There are a lot of good links to videos and explanations of exercise technique in this table of contents Go look under the exercise descriptions heading:

Also, go to the powerlifitng forum and read the stickies on the Bench, Squat, and Deadlift. They are long and detailed - just what you need because it's important you do them right.

I am a 150lb 6'1 16 year old that look very skinny(I guess I am). I am very lean, but stronger than most of the people in my grade. I just look weak. what part of my body should I work on to look bigger?

I've been lifting some weights, but I don't know much of the technical terms.

ah the perfect time to start hittin it hard, eating big and getting a lot of rest. I was exactly your size my freshman year in high school.. 6 years later and im about 250. Remember to traing EVERYTHING.. you dont want to look disproportionate. every average guy wants big arms and big chest but will never get them unless then know how to eat and train. Bench Press, Deadlifts, Squat, Row. I'd imagine u know your bench, but it alway can help to see if your cheating in some way anmd correct it now. If u dont know how to deadlift, read up on it, and start light and get the form down and slowly increase wweight. squats are prety popular for the average high school sports player... but they stop after that.. you need to get on some squats to develope some serious quads. Rows are great for the back, Im sure u know this one.

If you want to look bigger then you will have to eat as well as workout. To pick up on what madcow2 has said, being big is also about being proportionally big. You can work your body well but if it is not an all-over body workout then there will be an area of your physique which will let you down.

so squats and dead lift are the best 2 methods? what are some other compounds to complete the meal?

arms

''big'' arms (16" is big to most people) and absolutely nothing else will make those monsterous pythons look even bigger.. and 90% of people will judge you purely by your arm size

if you want to be ''big'' for those young hotties in your class (and you do, right?) then get as lean as possible.. a 150lb guy with an Usher pysique will be huuuuuge to them.

I would stick with preacher curls or cable curls. Barbell curls will be harsh on your forearms. People get tendonitis from doing heavy curls with a straight bar so I'd go with the 2 I mentioned or a hammer strength machine.
This is true I have to cycle barbell curls in and out of my arms day because it will kill my fore arms after a while.
