Muscle soreness and overtraining

I have always believed that if a muscle was still sore that I shouldn't work it out again until all soreness was gone.

Is this true? I mean, I did deadlifts for the first time Saturday and this is Tuesday and my back is still a little sore but today is also back/bicep day.

Should I go ahead and do my regular workout or skip the back?
 
If your muscles haven't fully recovered then they cannot work at maximum efficiency.

Any workout you do on sore muscles will not yield maximum training benefits.

You'll have to decide what's more important. Your training schedule, or maximum results.

And that is a pile of shit right there lol. When I first started the 5x5 my legs fucking hurt all week long for what felt like for ever. I still worked my squat 3 times a week and man I added some big time weight to the bar and size to the legs.

It's not a pile of shit. By saying you improved by training sore muscles means jack shit lol. You've thrown logic out the window.

You can't prove a theory like that. For all you know you could have doubled your results by paying more attention to muscle recovery.

It's pretty obvious that if you train sore muscles you'll limit your results no matter how big time your weights are.
