muscle milk?????????

bigjoep said:
anyone here use this stuff at all if so what do you think about it?

best tasting protein there is....like cake batter. its is kinda high in fat and carbs but its never seemed to give me any problems. but its unmatched as far as taste.

I think it's a quick approach to piss away ALOT of cash right quick!! have you ever checked out the serving amount?? it's ridiculously priced, and I don't believe it is worth the price... but that is just my opinion!! I think it would cost less on the pocket book to eat real protein foods like fish and steak than to use that product... IMHO there are products that are just as good in the middle price range!!

Great tasting and good if you want some extra cals, but it is pretty expensive for what you get.
I believe there's 15 servings/2.3lb and that will run you $20+.

muscle milk is def the best tasting, and if you mix with 16 of skim you will get just as much bang for the buck. lil high in fat for me esp. for a post workout shake.

thanks for all the replies, i know it is expensive but i get all i want for free and i am on the road a lot so i think it is better than fast food, i tried there bars the other day and man that shit is good, something that good just cant be good for you. LOL

I would suggest a great alternative to muscle milk. It's called Micellar milk by Nature's Best. Nutrition wise it's way better and also tastes better IMO b/c it's not as thick. It has 220 cal., 40g pro., 2g fat(1.5 sat.), and 12 carbs.

i love muscle milk. i love muscles and i love milk so its a win win. but yea i have a tub of muscle milk and then a fridge full of the RTD's. Thank you mommy and daddy

muscle milk is the best ...i have the mint chocolate chip powder.........i dont like the already made drinks tho u can get in gnc and other health stores

In almost every thread i read, its all about people trying to
advertise thier own shit, cant take any advice on this site
seriously anymore???

I'd like to know whats wrong with ON? Cheap decent source of whey, taste's alright, mixes easy.

There are differences in protein. Do you know why everybody used to use soy? BECAUSE IT"S CHEAP! Soy is an incomplete plant protein without all the essential aminos in proper ratio. What that means is out of the 20 grams you ingest, you're really only getting only 6-7 grams of useable.

Next up is whey concentrate. (The stuff used in most powders and MPR's). It has a lower percentage of usable protein than other forms such as whey isolate or cross filtered whey or even casien. Once again, it's cheaper. Protein Factory sells it for $5 and the isolate cost $10 per pound.

Manufacturers know that most people don't look into this stuff. That's why they use concentrate. It says "whey" and it contains so many grams and people think it's good. It's the stuff that they use in animal feed and processed cheese and deserts as a binder. It's the stuff they used to throw away when making fine cheese.

Organic whole egg is more expensive $12. And Plasma Serum is $43!!! BIG BLAST contains no concentrate. It's isolate, whole egg and plasma serum. That makes it a superior product in terms of potential muscle building.

Now if none of this doesn't matter to you, just buy soy or whey concentrate in bulk and save yourself a lot of money. But don't say there's no difference just because something mixes easily and tastes okay.

If you eat a reasonably balanced diet, whether you use ON or some protein factory protein the difference will be minimal.

Real food is best. Regular cheap whey like ON works well enough.

I have used most all of the different types of protein powder and I cannot see any difference in results obtained.

Sure, every protein has a different BV, but if you eat at least 3 real food meals a day that have good quality animal protein, then whatever whey you take in will work fine, especially if mixed with milk which imho, is superior for muscle building over whey.

I like whey for inbetween meals with milk, and after a workout. I've been using whey products on and off for 13 years so I have some clue what I am talking about.

Why not say that you don't like concentrate instead of making sweeping statements like ON is crap. Alot of people use it and like it and if most of your protein is coming from whole food than it doesn't really make that much of a differance.

Why must make an issue of everything? (that is essentially nothing).

I was explaining that different proteins have different bioavailability and that's why one brand may be cheaper than another. You get what you pay for.

If you're going to use a supplement you might as well use a superior protein IMO -- one that is BETTER than food. The protein in ON is WORSE than food.

Other than that, yes, of course, the majority of protein should come from food -- but I don't think you'd suggest that someone's main protein source should be tofu, right?

IMO muscle milk is better suited as a nice time protein since it consists of primarily caseinate protein. I think the bioavailability of ON makes it a very good and affordable post workout shake.

Actually, casienate is a slow absorbing protein, which is better for late at night.

Whey isolate is best post workout (ON does not contain whey isolate) but I think the whole high gylcemic, quickly digested post workout thing is overrated anyway.

I buy the RTD's, a case of 12 at GNC. They are Buy One get One for 50% off. Not bad.
GREAT TASTING.
350 cal
34g of protein
17g of carb (7g sugar) Kind of high but...

Because he is making a plug for proteinfactory, and he wants you to buy from them..

You can buy concentrate from PF, so your point is off base. I was making the comparison between proteins -- some being better than others.

AND BTW: I have nothing to do with the protein division and make no money from it. I design their anabolic line.

Actually its not. You mention protein factory, so people will goto their site and check out products and buy protein. And by chance they stumble across your products, therefore you make money too. Its a plug for protein factory.. Isopure is the best hands down, and cheaper than bigblast..

I will never ever order from PF just for the pure fact that NM would get some kind of residuals from it. I don't think I don't think I could ever forgive myself for that.

What's the basis of your opinion? You said so? Anyone who can read can see the difference in ingredients between the Isopure and BIG BLAST. No contest.

MAC173: You can be spiteful is you like. Seems dumb to me.(Not surprisingly).

it bloats me when I'm not on it. like if I'm on test en and deca. it sure works but It will bloat you. i guess it varies person to person

Your right, there is NO CONTEST. big blast is loaded with sugar..12g.. lol! Compared to 1g with Isopure. Not to mention, Isopure is fat and carb free, higher protein per serving, cholesterol count is lower, and its cheaper. Did I forget anything?

And who gave big blast a 10 out of 10 taste rating, you or hooker? lmao..

why do you have 12g of sugar per serving in your big blast?

To kill the taste! Youd probably be better off eating 3 teaspoons of sugar, sprinkle it on some corn flakes and wash it down with some 1% milk.. :p

Neo22 said:

If you want a sugar free protein, that'd be easy enough. (12 grams isn't a lot at all BTW). The sugar in BIG BLAST is hydrolyzed rice syrup and dextrose. That serves several purposes. Yes, it improves the taste. A completely sugar free shake tases like shit to me. But it also it transports protein quickly into the bloodstream.

BIG BLAST also contains creatine, NO2, organic "good" fats, serum plasma protein and digestive enzymes. It has less total protein because of all the other ingredients but a much higher grade of protein so you essentially get more aminos per serving. But hey, if you want to try and find fault for the sake of being difficult there's nothing I can say. But the stats are the stats and BIG BLAST is a superior productr hands down. If you want the ingredients in ON or isopure you can get them for less at PF if you like, but that's not the point I was making. BIG BLAST is a superior formula and if those who have a good understanding of nutrition will know that.

Hey, tofu is 98% protein. But it's crap. Read up on serum plasma protein. Interesting stuff.

If you train hard, eat big, sleep hard, take a multi-vitamin/mineral and use creatine then whether or not you use big blast or ON or isopure isn't gonna make a difference.

Soy may suck for a lifter's protein needs, but if you take in milk, egg, beef, chicken, fish protein on a daily basis along with your protein powder it doesn't matter how high quality the protein powder is at that point.

Your body is not gonna respond any differently with a balanced diet and hard training to big blast then it would to ON or isopure.

I learned this along time ago. I use whey concentrate, a good multi, creatine, fish oil and that's usually it because that's the stuff that actually works and is cheap.

the only supplement that really is gonna give stand out results is AAS.

Plain and simple...

I just got off of BB.com website, and its showing bigblast containing 20g of sugar per serving. So if your drinking 3 shakes a day, every 4g is 1 teaspoon of sugar. So, 15 teaspoons of sugar is quite a lot, dont you agree? Not to mention all the extra carbs you dont need too. Almost 100gs. How is this a superior product, when its loaded with sugar and carbs? Who cares about extra aminos, you can get them anywhere..

Well, that's been explained. BIG BLAST is a growth formula. In the past,"weight gainers" would be loaded with cheap sugar such as maltodextrin, and they were still "heavy." A mass gainer should actually be light, so you can have it between meals without filling you up. And again, you're just looking at one component. BIG BLAST could have been made with less carbs but it works better and tastes better the way it is. Have you tried the Tropical Orange? It's amazing. And you can easily swig down one or two a day without getting stuffed.

It's funny. Guys will take creatine drinks and protein drink but when one has both ingredients you're comparing it to something else. And once again, super plasma serum is not cheap whey with a low percentage of useable protein. We don't need to go over that again.

It tastes great- the Chocolate is unmatched. Because it's a bit high in fat I split it with egg white protein (which tastes like chalk by itself) and the result is a low fat, high protein, great tasting shake.

Honestly, I don't know how much of a visable difference you'll see physically from using one protein over another except in the case of serum plasma protein. It really does make a difference -- especially helpful PC when you're in a catabolic state.

whey, powdered milk, brewer's yeast works 4 me

sometimes a teaspoon of brown health food grade gelatin in the mix 2

lactose is a great PW carb. google rheo h.blair's free e-book excerpt(blairfree?) 4 more info

awesome tasting protein powder, the rtd shakes are good too. They are a little high in fat, but if your bulking, they are great.

I did a search on serum plasma protein but can't find any useful information. Have any links??
