I was currently looking for a good informational muscle magazine and have bought a couple of muscle and fitness and the magazine seems to be focused on one issue per issue so to speak. Anybody hvae any suggestions of magazines they get some good info out of???

Muscle mags exist solely to sell products, most of which are useless.

You'd be better off getting a good book on lifting, nutrition, etc.

Yep, listen to the bro's and in one month you can see how full of crap and lies those "hardcore" magazines really are..

I concur. I've learned more in one day on this board than I could by reading a handful of thos magazines.
Plus here it is interactive, you cant ask the mag a question.

This is why I wonder why so many people on this board continue to perpetuate the 4-5 day a week volume split...so many insist that these mags are liars but who do you think spawned those types of routines? Weider and its derivatives over the years. Before the commercial era of bodybuilding, the old-timers trained nothing like that. Do you really think the magazines are going to talk about productive training? Hell no they don't want you to succeed, they want you to buy more supplements.

I have to admit. . .the photos in the mags are really nice.

I used to have a supscription to FLEX and the photos always got me pumped up for workouts. Powerlifting USA is nice.

Isn't there some cool mag about Strongman? Not really what the OP was looking for I guess. Also I think it's only quarterly or something.

I got so much useful information from this board the first night I stumbled upon it, I read for 5.5 hours!!

This board is invaluable as a source of training and diet information. No magazine ever helped me get down to 10% bf or below.......this board did.

Nothing gets me ready to go to the gym as much as reading of other members success toward their goals. If you feel you're failing or just cannot reach your goals....people here will do all they can to pick you up, and give your motivation a hearty 'shove' in the right direction.
stay here, and read up...... you won't be disappointed.

That is exactly my point.
It's all conected, Weider publications, weider nutrition, IFBB, contests, sponsorships....
Damn! it's almost like corporative mafia!:fistfullo

I read Flex magazine. It's what has helped me to get my 24 in arms, 24 in waist, 24 in calves, 36 in thighs, and 65 in chest.

Joe Weider is my hero. :fro:
...chad...

Elite, and used text books from college bio/phys/physics/kinesiology/anatomy, etc.. ought to do it. :)

I got PLUSA for years, but it has become more and more a catalog. Just for different stuff than the other mags. The workout stuff is better though. The meet results are cool if you are into PLIng, otherwise there just isn't enough in the mag.

The MILOs I've seen have been really cool.

But a board is cool. You get a lot more exposure to different ideas. No mag is going to have discussions on doggcrap and hst and old school and westside and help you work on your personal workout problems.

MILO is by far the best strength publication I've seen.

I've thumbed through an issue of T-Mag before, and it was decent... but I'd rather just read the online material they have that interests me.
