does it have security updates posted on a website with auomatic notification like IE does?

I keep hearing people rave about how good it is, but I don't know if my system is compatible with it.

I'm on W98 right now (spare me, I know it's antiquated, but it [more or less] gets me around). Is it just a basic DL, or are there specific system requirements to run it?

Are you using the popup manager? Once you get them from a certain site, if you set the manager you'll never get them from that same site again.

what is the diff. between mozilla and firefox... where do I get them?

yeah, it's a nice browser. however, i've noticed when surfing EF, most of the time, the lines under the non-plat user names is run right through their user title. this doesn't happen in IE. also, the page rendering in Firefox for this site isn't quite as crisp and clean as it is in IE. other sites seem to be fine though. i'm using the latest version and it's still doing this.

still, Firefox is 10x better than IE could ever wish to be. IE likes to crash, Firefox does not.

I've given him the link at least twice now myself.

AAP - Mozilla Firefox is the name of the browser you want.

as far as finding it, Google is your friend, because i'm not giving it to you again.

Other than tabs, I fail to see what's so great about Firefox. It doesn't render pages as quickly as IE6, it frequently renders pages ugly, bookmark management sucks. It has the typically clunky, unfinished, amateurish feel of open source software. I gave it a chance for one week, then uninstalled it.

**rubbing feet**

wait... I thought one was called Mozilla and the other called Firefox... I thought it was two different things.

Ok, how do they handle cyber-rights and shit? do you get popups?

Can you find the link to the thread where you gave me the link previously

never mind.... my lazy ass went over to download.com and got it.

i don't use tabbed browsing. never cared for it myself.

i've had some minor problems with page rendering speed, but that didn't start til i installed SP2. go figure. it's not a constant thing, just occasionally.

i have had no problems with bookmark management.

the built in pop-up blocker was one feature that really drew me in. i like the ability to change the themes as well. just a little bit more customized. i use Mozilla Thunderbird for my mail and i really like that program. i refuse to use Outlook. i've also used a mail program called Pegasus, but Thunderbird is 10x easier to set up and use.

i'm sure as time goes on and Firefox is refined even further, it wil surpass IE.

AAP - Mozilla was the origonal. as they made new versions, they renamed the browser Mozila Firefox. they also made Mozilla Thunderbird for e-mail.

for the LAST time, here's the link for the newest version of Mozilla Firefox http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ enjoy!

Well, with SP2, IE6 got a pop up stopper that is at least as good as Firefox'. Better, in my opinion, because you can bypass it with the CTRL key.
