Most tattoos are trashy

JerseyArt said:
Yeah, I dont care one way or the other on guys, but 99% of the time they detract from a womans appeal (for me at least). Although you'd be hard pressed to find a chick without them these days.

It really does speak clueless airhead and wannabe

I concur with JA.....

For the most part I prefer clear, pale smooth skin.......untouched by graffiti.

Tattoos are unoriginal and played out, especially when every teenie-bopper is sporting one nowadays. When I see a tat on a woman she suddenly gets dumbed down and whore-ish in my book, especially if she's got one on her lower back, navel/crotch area, or ankle. If she's sporting one on her forearm or shoulder you know she's a trailer trash hooker. lol

Matt:

Just curious...but have you EVER found a woman attractive who had tattoos? What about a woman with multiple tattoos?

Ohh...by the way...my better half has 14. I've never heard ANYONE refer to them at "trashy" in any way.

Trust me...I'm the nice one of the family.

Recently had a run in with a DVD store owner and I wasn't really upset. 20 minutes later Nefi goes back PISSED and her brother ran in the store too...and her father was getting his gun from upstairs when I stopped them...

Ohh...the uncle was on his way over too.

It isn't me that anyone should be afraid of...it is the Greeks that are the rough ones.

I never noticed Greek people had a short fuse. I never even noticed they had any fuse... Must be the touristy places I went.

LOL I know how to follow boundaries. I'm in a Kösenor Student Corps (Oldest form of fraternity in the world) and when a member of another corps feels insulted by me he can challenge me to a sharp bladed sword duel... some corps are actually looking for a reason... Since I'm new, I'm still an inferior fighter. I'd get hurt and scarred.

Some of you Americans may know the Corps from Mark Twain's book "Travels to Europe"

I brought my tattoo design into a local artist yesterday and he was amazed how “original” and “cool” it looked(his words) everyone I show it too says it is awesome as well. I’m just kind of scared of covering up my shoulder with it but oh well, you only live once.

I think tattoos should be personal and original. I don’t understand why people just go in and get the tribal band tat or the butterfly ect. I would never want something that someone else has, except maybe a cross, but I would still design it in my own way. And I would never get a tat you could see with a short sleeve shirt on. I think if your going to get tats on your forearms or calves you’re going to be categorized, like “white trash”

But I’ve known a few guys with tats covering their whole bodies that make $70k+ and work for major corps

Asshole,

My post was a R-E-S-P-O-N-S-E to someone who cared enough to bring up my personal situation, presumably attempting to explain why I feel that most tattoos are trashy.

Do you get that? R-E-S-P-O-N-S-E? Do you know that word?

Here's a R-E-S-P-O-N-S-E to your post: I would sincerely appreciate if you don't post on this thread again, unless you want to contribute something toward the comment at hand could get back to the topic at hand: the trashiness in appearance of most tattoos.

Thanks.

Bfold,

In the beginning I said that most tattoos are trashy. I still stand by that.

I also said somewhere on this thread that we all own our bodies, and I do not wish to interfere with people doing whatever the hell they want to their bodies.

Tattoos, drugs, piercings, I don't give a shit, it;s your body, you own it, knock yourself out.

I just think that the overwhelming majority of tattoos look like shit, and convey a trashy image.

I don't think anyone here said tattoos automatically make a person trashy,
rather that they give a first impression of trashy when generalizing their appearance. Especially those that have huge, outward appearing ones.

Get to know the person and then determine if they fit that generalization or if they
are the exception to it..

No different IMO BFold than Big Mofo's getting generalized as mean brutes,
vs: being meek and quite..

The problem is there are way too many people that actually care what others think. Nobody has to defend themselves on this issue. Both sides have an opinion...leave it at that. This world is filled with so much f-ing whining about the most trifling things.

Matt started this for one reason, IMO....entertainment...he got it. LOL

I can say that I agree with your post. I got lost past the word "most"...lol.

I was trying to say two things.
1) Sometimes men like trashy women. I'm sure that we both know women with tattoos that we have found attractive...even if the tattoos were a little "trashy".

2) Tattoos can be attractive if done the correct way on the proper person. Of course...a lot of this seems to also depend on the person wearing the tattoo and how they carry themselves with self-respect.

Nefi has a friend here whom I've met on several occassions. She seems really nice and pretty darn nice looking at that. We went to see her the other day at her new house and she wore this low cut shirt...showing this wildly colorful tattoo that seemed to cover some of her left pectoral area and went across her left breast near completely. At that point I was thinking..."what were YOU thinking when you got that???!!!".

Thanks for the reply Matt.

I don't consider permanent make-up or whatever it is a tattoo

Tiger Woods,sans tatoos

LOL best response on this thread ever.

I'm not a big fan of tattoo's.

HOWEVER, there was this one dude who we used to by weed from in high school that had this frigging awesome tattoo. He had a womans leg painted on from his wrist to his armpit, and another leg from his armpit to his oblique. The armpit hair was where the bush was. I bet that guy got more ass than a toilet seat.

just my two cents

Some tattoos can be trashy but to say that ALL tats are trashy or that if you have tats you are trash is way out in left field!

"most" really should be changed to "many"
that should satisfy everyone

most do not understand the history of tattoos

they were used by those who belive in BLACK MAGIC to magnify earthly power

Hi.

A lot of younger people are getting tattoos these days, both men and women. My observance of this phenomenon, and compilation of associated data, has brought me to the conclusion that

1. Tattoos look like shit.

2. Guys with tattoos are usually announcing that they have risen to the level of assistant mechanic at the local dodge dealership. Data supporting whether this is a causal issue or a coincidence are incomplete.

3. Many women of all social strata are getting tattoos these days, yet a tattoo on women is a great social playing field leveling tool. Sadly, the level is "trailer. Least classy are probably the lower back tattoos, and competing with that are the ankle and lower abs tattoos.

Comments? Support? haters?

I don't like them either. Just another sign of a degenerate generation. Having said that, noone has one like mine, not here, I guarantee it. LOL

man this thread was good!!!!!! im gonna read it again and smartoff to people.

i heard alot of people mention how the body should not be mutilated, desicrated, ruined, etc. etc.. im wondering if the same people believe the same about what they put in thier body. im assumming alot of those people have either at one time or do now, inject drugs in thier ass, have done rec drugs, smoke, drink, eat red meat, consume too many carbs, etc etc. i think the same logic could be applied. to each his own though.

me personally i would say more times than not i dont like tats, especially on women. i do like the purest form of a female body, there are always exceptions. i can find artistic value in alot of things that i may not necessarily want or do for myself.

having said that, me and my ol lady each have a small meaningless tat. mine from my navy days in the phillippines, hers even more meaningless. lol.

Sadly, I'd have to say that the tatoo stereotype is mostly true...however, this is not to say that there aren't any exceptions, which of course there are.

For example, if somebody's parents died and they got a tatoo of their initials above their heart, that wouldn't necesarilly make them a greasy biker or a hairy gangbanger.

But yeah, most people with tatoos, I'd say about 80% of the people, are..undesirable personalities

Well your "compilation of associated data" didn't take into accordance all the various ways and types of tattoos that are done these days on various subjects. Not withstanding the ones you mentioned.

Such as skinny rock stars in bands who don't want to look feminime and wimpy in magazines. So instead of muscle they get knocked up with billions of tatttos to match their piercings.

Women who get that one tattoo on their mid-back. Right above the thong. IMHO, very sexy!

Midgets trying to look tough. How cute. Nuff said.

You're trying to get into a biker gang or biker circles. Can't do it with momma's baby arm. (eg: Jesse James of WCC)

Like everything in life -- some get it done with class, and others don't. Unfortunately i will agree with you that probably 70% of folks have no idea what to put on that isn't ugly or cheesy, and two -- where and how much to put on.

Two important factors on deciding whether you're telling the world you work at Dodge, or if you're a cool rock star.

ive heard figures as high as 85%.
