25 reps for me, but they were really clean full reps at bodyweight ~220.

The guys on xfit can do a hell of a lot but they KIP in order to do more, so it's not a level comparison.

Did 50 in my last workout: 18, 12, 10 and did 50 in between sets of squats and military as 10 sets of 5.

PS this poll is flawed: if you've done 20 then you could be either 15-20 or 20-30, etc

Can someone explain the proper way to do a pull up? I see explanations varying among styles. Some say, go up and all the way down to the point right before the shoulders lock out <dont lock them all the way out> while others say go up and then down but keep the elbows bent in order to keep the lats flexed. Is one style more for building muscle while the other is more for ego?

When I was 17 I could do 40. Now I could probably do 25, but never try to rep them out

We had a pull up bar, and they were the only weights exercise I did, and I never added extra weight, so just did more and more reps.

30+ at bodyweight of 200lbs. Always been good at those.

knocked out 22 a few weeks ago but could possibly hit 30. i try to do at least 3x10 every day along w/3x25 push ups. no matter what im doing; i just love those 2 exercises.

I did 9 a few years ago but I only weighed 165lbs then... I haven't really done them in ages but maby I'll test it out soon again...

I've done 17 or 18 at a bodyweight of 180. The correct way to do a Pull up is to lower yourself to just before lockout, then pull up and attempt to touch your chest to the bar. If your trying to do as many as you can or more than someone else they may tell you to "lockout" or they won't count them.

Palms away, no straps, strict...I'm thinking I've done 13 at near 290 lbs body weight. For some reason I'm thinking I did a few more once...but 13 also sticks in my head.

Thats impressive BFold. I'm around 220 at 6'7 and have trouble doing them strict like that. I can knock out about 25 in a neutral position, but palms away kills me. Plus my arms are about 8 feet long, so it takes forever as well heh heh

you are all godlike, at my gym maybe 5 guys out of 500 at the gym that can do more then 15 clean. Maybe 3 that add wieght. including big boys that bench 400+ for reps or squat equally well. I am assuming you dont include chins in this poll.

Also if you can do 30 pullups after your back workout you might consider putting some wieght on the bar when doing back exercises. Oh, say equal too or greater then x2 bodywieght deadlifts from the floor. Maybe im cynical and you have a bionic grip. better still do a few sets of five on the seated rows (with the full stack of wieghts) and please dont use momentum or straps.

I take it back i just cant imagine pounding my back for 20 sets and then popping out 30 clean pullups. Can i have some of what you are smoking:)

No women answering?

Well back in the day I maxed out at 18, cramped up on the 19th one so that last one didn't count. Now I can do bout 10. Not bad for an old broad that is bout 125# at 5' 3".

I'm just happy that at this stage in the game I can still do them. LOL

Saw a poll for pushups so i went ahead and did one for pullups...

I have never tried for a max total reps except when i was in high school and then it was like 25. But now i focus more on the muscle and making sure i am working it correctly during my workout and doing this will give you less reps imo considering that i do slower reps in making sure that i am working that muscle when i am doing pull ups.

25-30 palms forward going down 7/8 of the way. i have extremely long arms that hinder these as well as a lot of other pulls/presses

6'6 235 i can do 15 or so, my chest does not touch the bar but i get my chin over it and come ALL THE WAY down, probably to the point where it might not be good for my delts but it stretches my lats so well...ive always sucked at these due to long arms so im cool qwith 15

16, full extension, palms out, wide grip

6'4" @ 213

Normally rep 12, 11, 8 in between Sprints, along with Push-ups & Sit-ups.

I used to do screening for game show contestants back in the 80s when shows like American Gladiators were first coming on the scene... and they had a rule that every contestant had to be able to do a minimum of 50 reps on pull ups. I said that wasn't possible... so the guy "showed me." He did 50 partial reps then finished strong and fast to show me how kick ass he was. Then I showed him a full extension rep... top to bottom... and he could get 6.

Dont know I usually do dead hang pull ups . All the way down arms extended, pull up sqeeze the back and come all the way down I usally do like 10-12 as a warm then use lat pull down and row machines
