Italian? Russian?

I would say the Russian mafia, as so many hardened and smart criminals came to US in the '90s and built a strong network that invloves drugs, weapons and racketeering.

I am watching a show on the History channel about organized Russian mafia...

Those guys are not kidding, they are very sophisticated,speak many languages and travel all over the world.

Many Jewish from Russia were released from prisons in the '90s and came to US...

The Sicilian / US Mafia is the Most Powerful if you mean having the most far reaching, Money gathering and corruption.
They follow strict rules and protocal as to how things get done
and those that go against this protocal usually don't do well long term.

The Japanese YAKUZA(sp?) are supposedly the most ruthless with no rules or protocol.

Russian Mob is very unorganized and have little govmt influence and corruption.
But then again the Russian govmt does not even HAVE the resources to BE corrupted.

See, I actually did a report in School back before the fall of Russian communism and that was the state I posted.

Yes, they have taken advantage of the new fledgling russian goverment and own that place big time..

Not only have a huge influence on the corrputed Russian government but they have powerful ramifications all over the world and mainly on the East coast of the US .

They're no longer powerful. Most of their members are locked in and the rest are waiting for their trial. Here in Canada, they lost 75% of their structure in april 2001. Same thing for the Bandidos.

Yea, the biker gangs were a BIT too flashey, loud and open mouthed about thier doings to be long term successful..

The tend to accept newbies more easily than others, hence how they get busted by the man..
