More on the topic of tanning ...

I'm starting to develop a reasonable tan, now ... ON MY STOMACH!! The rest is lagging, exp. shoulders, upper chest, arms ..., even back.

What to do about this? I make sure to roll around in the bed, doing all sides evenly, but I still have white stripes down the outer edges of my stomach, and my stomach is going much darker than everywhere else.

I know I have to hit the standing booth at some point, but it's much more expensive. I was hoping to hold off for a while.

Should I just put sunblock on it for a few sessions?

Suggestions?

This is the same type of thing as saying..."I have good legs so I am not gonna train them till my upper body catches up." Keep the lotion on your body...there is usually a good reason why certain parts don't tan as well as others. My hands and face don't tan as well...because they get washed a ton of times every day. My legs tend to be really dry too.

Keep trying ..........how long have you been tanning now??

Have you thought of using a self tanner???

The stomach tans more easly b/c that is were we carry most of our fat,. Thats what i heard anyway. Also try using a differnet lotion, try one that has a tingel factor in it.

AziaReign - actually only about 5 or 6 sessions by now ... heh heh - I guess it's still early days - just wondering if it naturally starts evening out, or if my tummy is going to be much darker then the rest in the end.

hrdbdygrl - that's a good idea - put a tingle type on arms & legs & keep on with the step one on stomach - mm, I think I'll try that tomorrow ...:)

Thanks

Make sure your not putting a hand/body lotion on your arms and legs before getting in the tanning bed, and then applying your tanning lotion.

I make sure I go in with no lotions on....... otherwise sometimes I get streaky :)

Use a tingle factor lotion that also has bronzers in it(brown sugar, carmel spice, ferocious) those all work really well, just get them on even. Self tanners work good to,just exfoliate really well(bain De Soul)is a good one. The tingle factors get the blood going and you tan faster.

I haven't fake-baked in years but ...I always did better without any lotion. I always tried to raise my arms up (to avoid side stripes). Oh...and watch out for your butt- you have to bend your knees or you will get an ugly white line on the ass (where the cheek meets the leg). ;)

On the notion of the tingle factor....it really makes little to absolutely zero difference in a tan. I know that people would argue..."I get a better tan with the tingle lotions." That is true...most lotions that use the tingle factor...are also better quality lotions.

I have a bottle of pure tingle mix. Some things we got as our company was thinking about developing our own lotion. We got to test out all kinds of mixes...as well as getting a dropper bottle of pure tingle. Talk about hot. I put one drop of this stuff on the back of my hand...in five minutes I was scrubbing with soap and holding it in the icebox.

Just keep moisturized and tan on low minutes and frequently. A good tan is built like a good body...over time with quality nutrients.
