Sorry, another question...

Trace carbs after 6-7 PM (depending on your schedule).

Is it okay to have meals 7 & 8, the last two, with a serving of natty PB as a calorie buffer and since it's more of a fat to mix in with my extra virgin olive oil? I don't know if that would be trace carbs or not. I'm assuming he means no rice, pasta, potatoes etc.
 
Why is olive oil bad at night? Those are the fats. I never heard of anything wrong with ingesting fats at night.

As for you Tagio, I'm not sure that's why I asked. Just want to be 100% sure.
 
Fats have twice the amount of calories as protein or carbs, and it is calories that put on fat. At night you want your calories to come from protein.

u do know that is a myth right? ur body doesnt know when its night or day..

I think that would count as "trace carbs" in DC's opinion, so it should be cool.

Here again I'd say don't sweat it too much...some carbs at night wouldn't be the end of the world; and I know if I'd always cut them out past 6, I'd be a *very* unhappy camper :)

I was willing to trade a bit of fat gain for just enjoying my diet and the routine as a whole. To a large extent, happier me = more motivated me.

The nighttime carbs were never a big problem, though, even for me, bodybuilding's crappiest dieter. It was only when I went really nuts, eating huge dinners, desserts, and sweets near bedtime that I gained 2-3 lbs. of fat.

And that took quite awhile. I kept the goof-ball eating up JUST to see what I could get away with...that, and it was fun :) It underscored the need to, above all else, eat a LOT. And that I did.
 
You really should have read the entire cycles for pennies thread. (animalkits) It would have answered all your questions. This is really getting old, however.
 
He says no carbs past 6-7 PM. He says nothing about fats. Could you link me to the cycle for pennies thread on Animal's board? I've never been there.
