Members,

This idea came to me via digger and SublimeZM. What are your thoughts on changing the forums so that a Mod cannot lock a thread he is participating in?

define participating in? Some threads need to be locked. Maybe set it so a mod gives a thread "a strike"....get a strike from 2-3 mods and it's locked.

sounds like a great Idea...but now you will only get mods locking without any explanation..

Maybe Mods should be limited to the amount of threads they can lock a day....They would be a little more cautious as to what they locked..and let the Plat members take some more resposibility....

If the Mod is participating, I can see where that might be a conflict of interests and warrant them not being able to George. I am glad however they have that power after a few idiot ran rampant this past week and the good man RADAR shut them down from their misdeeds.

This instance here would be the only one I would say they CANNOT lock a thread.

Thanks for asking our opinion.

I dont see any reason to change the way it is now, as indy said RADAR locked some that needed to be locked, its just my opinion but i think they do a good job the way it is..

mostly over in the C+C forum they go and lock threads for no or dumb reasons.. over here they need to be locked quick and the mods do a good job of that in this forum.

I just think they need to be accountable for what they do, if its locked, they should post on it that they locked it and why. if its moved or deleted, a simple courtesy pm to the thread starter would avoid all kinds of unpleasant stuff

That seems fair. An explaination, so if it's wrong we'll know. But if needed it can still be locked.

I agree...although i dont think we have a huge problems with mods locking our threads here...mostly in C&C

Some threads obviously need to be locked. The ones, where there is a question on why it was locked, could use an explanation from whoever locks it.

I think its a great idea fucking great great great idea
i think there are some mod's who get thier feelings hurt and punish you for it.
its been done to me more than once, belive me ive been here for like 5 yrs...yea this isnt my first handle lol, but when your not platnum mods can just kick you off weather its justified or not....so yes yes yes George i think its a great idea

great idea very forward thinking

seen many dumb descisions made by hot headed mods

not really on this site persay but def on others

its a good idea for any site

seen alot of good mebmbers leave on variuos sites for this issue

Took the words right out of my mouth.

i didnt know we had a problem. the only thing i saw was threads being moved, but i havent seen them locked. i guess it hasent effected me so im all for keeping it the way it is.

Tried to give you K my friend, I need to "spread" it around before giving you more. I agree with this, cause really this is the only forum I participate in, or at least it's my "primary" one... I never hit the C+C forum so cannot comment intelligently on that one....

hey dial tone.. is that your girl?? holy shit man.. those are the biggest nicest tits I have seen!! damn thats sweet!! no disrespect whatsoever!!! k to you all day!!

if it is a thread that NEEDS TO BE LOCKED, then it's obviously not one that a mod is already participating in... we all know that. but yes, some mods will lock a thread just because they dont agree with someone, i havent seen this in a while though, and the current mods we have seem like they have their heads in the right place.
a thread that will need to be locked will be noticed right away, they are never the ones that have banter back and forth, they are the ones from people posting shit up that shouldnt be posted up.

Fuck that. I say let them locked what they feel needs to be locked. Stipulation - The name of the mod who locked it must have their name appear as the "locker". I've had a few things not locked, but dissapear with no explantion. I think this will be a good first step in having it be mandatory to having it publicly known who is doing what to threads and replies and why.

The TOS is now in my sig at the bottom of every post
