Modesty

It's one thing to be nude and changing into or out of your clothes, but to hang around the locker room baring it all is distasteful, unless you have a fantastic body. If a woman is in fantastic shape I appreciate seeing her body and don't mind at all if she's prancing around longer than needed. LOL

Unfortunately this is rarely the case. Living in FL we have a lot of older people here and they're the worst. I'm no spring chicken myself and have lots of flaws so I am very quick to change. No one wants to be subjected to looking at ugly for longer than necessary.

So wait....one shouldn't be naked out in the open area of the locker room, and shouldn't change in the stalls either. Hmmm. I guess that leaves the gym floor or outside?

No, being naked in the open area is fine...just so long as it doesn't seem to be a SHOW, like with the ass in the air or blow drying the pubes, etc. In other words, change with no shame, but don't subject everyone to a sight that might turn our stomachs.

And no naked sitting on the benches or chairs. We ladies have these open mucus membranes and all. That's just nasty, leaving a goo trail. Yuck.

I am with Puddles on if there body is in good shape fine staying naked a little longer is cool but that is never the case.

locker room culture in the gym is virtually non existant, so yes i get grossed out when i see people parading around with their wrinkled balls swinging around

yes i know we are all men and theres nothing to hide or be ashamed of but really, theres some things id just rather not see

if you absolutely have to change, then for goodness sake be fast about it- ESPECIALLY since there are so many gay guys about. yuk

There is another side to this modesty discussion. Some people do change in the bathroom stall to protect their image. If you are working out or work in a conservative gym/healthclub you have no choice and need to conceal your tattoos or piercings from objecting eyes especially bosses. It's sometimes not worh the ridicule, hostile looks or "did it hurt" comments from members or staff. Also many of us are sensitive and easily offended by remarks. Now don't get me started on the subject of hiding our muscles.

That is interesting - never thought of that angle before. As a teacher, if I saw one of my students parent in the dressing room, I would probably change in a stall. I wouldn't want a parent seeing me naked - or me see them naked - it possibly could be hard for a 'professional' relationship to recover from that.

For the first example it isn't like she saw you coming and MOONED you...lol

I wouldn't complain to the manager...Its not going to make any difference.

It will probaly work against you in the end, just ignore it.

The mens locker room is worse.

I'm sitting on the bench changing shoes, and the older men will walk right up to, about a foot or two away and start asking you stupid questions. Try to have a conversation with some ones dick in your face.

I look straight in there eyes extra hard or don't look at them at all.

Fortunately I live close enuf to the gym to walk/run there -- takes about 30 minutes + there's my cardio! Then I get to avoid the monotony of the treadmill/elliptical & the cardio crowd. The only issue is that I still have to walk home which is another 30 min to 1 hour depending on the route...

But then I don't have to change in the small bathroom/locker area they have....

You're lucky. Much of the time I train after work so I've got to change. I love days when I'm off though and can just walk in and out in the same clothes.

I go to a Gold's gym and I'd say 95% of the members are guys so most of the time I've got the locker room to myself. It's completely different when I go to the spa for the day though. Ugggg!
