Mirror vs. Looking down

Anyone else here never think they look good when they look down at their body but look much better in the mirror?

It's weird, I swear I'm looking at 2 different bodies sometimes

I guess, but what I really hate is that some mirrors make you look better then others.... They say the best way to see yourself is a camera....

I swear the gym mirrors are "tainted" some how too :)

They want to make us keep coming back.... or maybe it's the insaine pumps I get in the gym compared to looking in a mirror at home "cold."
 
i look down at my arms and dont think theve grown since i was 15


unless im lifting or just got done having sex and im looking in the mirror i feel small
 
I thought this phenomenon was just me!

I look in the gym mirror and look great, but pictures are 'blah'.

We had a mirror at my old gym that was titled forward a little compared to the rest. It basically made you look twice as big when you were looking at it. You'd look at your arms and go..."Damn, I'm looking huge" Then you'd go to a different mirror and reality would set in. I'd always stand by that mirror during bulking :)

yes I have don this a few times.I love the mirror.all it takes is a cuple if mins in the merror and I am redy to hit the gym.lol
 
Mabe its just me but i always practice my posing in the shitiest lighting with the shitiest mirror I can find. I figure if I look like shit, Ill train that much harder to not look like shit.
Its a shitty thing to do to myself but it works and motivates the hell out of me.

and if i look down usually all I see are pecs, dick, quads and feet...i try not to look down to much.

Its all about the lighting and the bend in the mirror. I used to model for a while and every time my agent took a pic of me I looked like a greek god.........When Rick at Muscle fitness took my pics I looked like a skinny teenager. To make it worse I would always be the smallest guy by like 30 lbs at least. Wanna get motivated? Go to that place and check out how big even the no name BB's are.

Reality checks are tough!!! Except way back when, 2nd or 3rd cycle I was really pushing hard and keeping everything clean for a few months. Went to a wedding and saw pictures afterward- Damn I looked good!! Otherwise, every flaw glares like highbeams in the mirror. :bawling:

in all honesty - sometimes I get "excited" to take the pic - so I can line it up next to the previous one, - and when I do - it doesn't look that much different.

this makes me want to go out and get a 30-pack and a pizza, but I don't..........................and so the cycle goes on.........

That's why I will always be able to feel for girls who never think they look good in the mirror.

It's actually pretty sad.
 
If I thought I wouldn't get BASHED by a couple of punks around here, I would post my pics once a month, that way, - I will have to put my $$$ where my mouth is, cause you guys could tell if I fuked off; and also I could REALLY use critiquing on lagging bodyparts.

Should I start May 1st?

You should see the pic of me after my accident, the day before I started lifting about9 months ago.
 
its all about lighting bros. firstly i workout at david barton gym, there is one if miami, la, ny, and chi town. the mirrors are all lighted with strange colored lights that hit you at angles and make you look fuckin huge. i take all my camera pics at the gym. also as a model i will tell you right now. some of the dudes that model are tiny and they make them look huge with lighting oil and angles. the abercrombie models are about 5 4 tops and very small but proportionate. they look a lot bigger in their pics but not ef big. i worked for american crew and i was amazed at how they made 5 foot 4 160 pounders look like 6 foot 200 pounders.

No, Ill tell you what I hate. I hate it when everyone is like, "hey your getting BIG" and etc. but when u look at urself in a pic/ mirror you wonder why everyone is saying that?

I dont no if u guys noticed the pumpin iron vid of arnold when hes flexing and the cam points or looks toward the mirror he looks so much bigger then they focus on him and looks smaller

Gotta start somewhere! Shit... check out my fat ass before stomach in my gallery. Still got some there, but way better all around...

I always looked good with clothes on... but this year I want to be in the top tier of bodies at the beach.
 
Ya I definitely think that I am small still... but shit think about it - if you think that you are small what do you think about the rest of the population. They are complete shit. Honestly i'd rate myself a good 6. I'd also rate 90% of the population a 0.

Great way to look at it Steel - most everyone in my gym/peer group/family/etc looks like total shit - except me of course!
