Help an old guy out...

Been a long time since I have been in school and the wonderful State of Arkansas is wanting to pay for me to get my Masters in Social Work.

I have to get accepted first. Grade point is no problem. Experience is no problem. The justification letter and letters of referral are gonna be a snap.

However, a little worried about the MAT...

How many of you have taken it...

Are their any really good tools to prepare you for it....

Needing help from the scholarly.

I almost took it as an alternative to the GRE. Luckily, I didn't have to. From what little I know, it is similar to an LSAT.

I took it to get into grad school. I used one of those damn review books with the yellow and black cover (like Cliff Notes) to study for it. . .didn't set the world on fire but did good enough to get it. Ended up with a 3.92 in my Masters progam. :)

another bump for the scholastic types...

Tests very general knowledge. If you dont' know x president's y, then you can't compare it to Bush's current economical reform. Same with comparing a exaltation of larks with a mustering of storks. Et cetera, ad nauseum...

I believe it's one of those tests that has a 50% correct ~ 90th percentile type thing. Don't quote me on that, but it's around there. Not a test people walk away with 90% of the questions correct.

No tools will help you prepare for it, save knowing the format and style of the test itself. Buying an LSAT silent timer or something would help with that aspect of the testing.
