Milk... my biggest weakness

Im still trying to rid the last remaining traces of my once fat physique but I cant help thinking the milk im drinking is not helping me here. I just love the stuff with me protein shakes and find taking it with ne thing else unbearable. I usually drink 2-3 litres of milk per day:( am I really messing up here or should it be ok?

Is it really that bad? Ive heard of soy milk... how does this taste?

In terms of fat content, soy milk isn't much better than regular 2% milk. It's mainly for the lactose-intolerant folks out there.

I think a little milk is ok, but three litres is a lot of extra fat, even with semi-skim. I'd either swich to skim, especially in your protein shakes, or cut down your intake overall.
 
If you are trying to cut up, milk is bad. Milk has 13g of carbs per serving.

Eating fat doesn't make you fat, eating simple carbs makes you fat.
 
Actually, lactose rates pretty darn low on the glycemic scale, and it has a moderate insulin index. Personally, I think lactose is one of the better carbs out there, assuming you can handle it (which, at 2-3L/day, you obviously can).

If you are really trying to kill carb intake, avoid the milk. 2L is going to provide roughly 100g of carbs. Then again, I have seen many people succeed in fat reduction when eating upward of 350g/day. It is all a matter of insulin sensitivity, and of course, the rest of your diet. Granted, 2L of milk per day alone is not bad. If, however, you also have a booth named after you at the local donut shop, you might have a weeeeeee bit of a problem.

Basically my diet is as follows:

Meal 1: Bowl cereal + semi skim milk + banana + glass semi skim milk
Meal 2: Chicken sandwich on brown with salad
Meal 3: protein shake with pint semi skim
Meal 4: protein shake with pint semi skim
Meal 5: Depends what fiancee cooks for me... usually chicken breasts + veg... baked potatoes + beans... or bangers and mash... depends... sometimes bad... like spag bol
Meal 6: protein shake with pint semi skim

Sometimes try to fit in extra protein shake. Drink pints of water every hour.

Never really counted cals here but protein is estimated at about 180-240 grams I rekon.

So no donuts:) Occaisonal Burger King on Saturdays or Pizza... 3 or 4 pints of bitter on fri and sat ( i know i know).
