Sup niggers and niggettes. ho's and bro's. bitches and snitches. poons and goons.

So the ebay job I got is legit. But this week there happened to be some shit that went on and I had very little ebay work. Which actually is fine because they told me they are expanding to 35,000 employees within 30 days!

How, you ask?

Well, there is a company that is already doing business nationwide. They advertise natiowide and they have 35,000 employees. They get calls about electronic repairs, then their job is to call local repair places (like where I work) and have them do the job. The local repair person that does the job gets his commission and then they get the rest.

My boss is about to buy that company. He is about to put 6 digit figures into this business within 30 days.

So basically they told me pretty soon I would eventually be running the ebay, and moving up the ranks. They are about to get everyone on a W-2, benefits, paid vacation, etc. Then I brought up the technician job, since I told them I dont wanna drive 90 minutes there and back when there is no work. Basically they will always have work for me to do, whether it be ebay posting, researching how much products are worth, testing equipment, or eventually maybe even a technician.

They also said I will be moving up soon and get paid a flat rate to run the ebay store, and then probably get extra pay if I do posts, or if I start doing tech work.

My question is have any of you been a technician before? Or repair electronics? If so, did you like it? Im just trying to weigh my options and see if that is something I would wanna do.

Be careful bro. People will lie to motivate you and then jerk you. They only care about themselves and will use anyone to advance themselves.

tell them you don't want promises ... you want paychecks

I've been a tech before, it's a nice job, specially onsite techs because you dont have to be in the office all damn day smiling to people at work... repairing electronics is quite easy once you get the hang o it, it's a cool job you can turn into a free education experience and a living :)

OH YEA nan, I almost forgot, they said eventually I could work from home as well and be a tech that gets on peoples computer and fixes them FROM HOME.

I just really see this company being a good thing, it will be exploding within 30 days and have national advertising. So Im not too worried that I will be getting money. They promised me there is always something to do, which there is, because they have a lot of shit that needs to be fixed, organized, put on ebay, etc.

Remote assistance is the best, easy and straight to the point, until they start putting metrics on you like you have to take X amount of calls and be on the phone for only x amount of times, etc

Get it in writing bro simple as that. The more oral promises he makes the less I would consider anything he says credible, just saying. Good luck I hope this is what he makes it sound like.

Sounds like a gay pyramid business where they promise that you'll be a manager within 6 months. I applied at a marketing place a while back that I was basically going to be a DirecTV rep in a store. The guy doing the interview laid out the entire business model, the different ranks, and the exact time frame I would get there. He promised that managers make up to 200k a year to run different offices. I was like lol no.

Yea for sure. Ive personally seen the 2 storages that have about 100,000 items that need to be either listed on ebay or just gotten rid of. So I know there is plenty of ebay work.

But they do need a tech, and they said they would want someone with 0 experience so I can learn it their way.

Like I said ill know how legit they are when i get paid. I already saw the HR people come in and talk to my boss about payroll so I know its happening. Just wondering if it would be worth it to be a tech, or if it worth it to just stay an ebay person and eventually get paid to run the ebay part and post.

haha no bro its not like that at all. Basically one of the 2 people that are doing the work for me to post (research items, take photos, write descriptions) are gonna leave. The ones that hired me do that right now. So when that person leaves, Ill have to do what they did. And when that happens, they will get someone to do the ebay posting and Ill be a manager of the ebay store. The ebay store is not their main income at all.

Im just wondering if being a tech would be what I wanna do. Im good at the ebay stuff, im not sure about tech/software/hardware stuff.

oolollllloooollolololollol

I give it about 2 weeks before this company asks glad for a small "investment" to cover startup costs and he liquidates a bag of his nickels.

jus tryin to understand wtf ur talkin about lol. anyway i guess ill just wait and let this whole thing play out and then decide what to do....Im def not quitting my other 2 jobs until i know ill receive steady income from this new job. I dont really care what it is I do over there, whether it be posting shit, researching prices, fixing and testing equipment, running ebay, etc. All I know is that they seem very legit so far and i wouldnt be surprised if something really good works out for me

So youre willing to drive 1.5 hours to be a monkey tech making dick instead of working from home posting on ebay, which you are already well versed in? Which is what you were hired to do in the first place?

Have you received any paycheck from them yet?

So they are hiring 35000 employees, which are basically your competition since you get paid straight commission per ebay post?
Those employees are going to be cutting into your volume bruh, what do you think they are going to be doing?
Theres only so many techs they will need then everyones going to be ebay posters just like you.
You already hardly got any work so far rob...

what you need is stock participation.. otherwise you are just a cog.. sorry.. but get it done and you'll be working in part for yourself..

Thats thew thing, idk how much I would make being a tech. I am leaning on the side of NOT doing the tech work. The boss already said that he would be paying me 400 a month just to cover gas + wear on the car. I told him im not driving every day to Sacramento if im getting shit pay

They are taking over a business that calls local places. So technically they are not employees. This actually confused me when I just wrote this, so Im gonna have to ask whats up with that.

I was gonna get paid tmr but I told them id be out of town, so Monday for sure I am.

The employees are all techs. None of them are ebay, that is all mine. only mine.

The techs are nationwide, so its like having 35,000 techs nationwide and when someone needs something to be fixed, they send a tech out who is closest to them.

The opportunity is here, I just need to see what happens in the next 30 days. I dont think im gonna want to be a tech. I will help do easy shit when theres no ebay stuff though like test equipment.

stick to your guns if they start yanking your ass around. remember what they hired you for, just work from home, only ebay posting.

u r right. He said they would talk to me about pay next week. In fact they only brought up tech stuff because I brought it up due to the lack of work this week. But he said this week was just weird and next week we would start back up again.

This is my ultimate goal - My plan is to go down 2x a week, take a bunch of photos, organize shit and start writing shit down and inventorying them, and getting paid a flat or hourly rate for this. Then the other 3x a week I would post them on ebay from home. The nice thing is that the early AM at my hotel is fucking DEAD so I can post them while Im at work :)

Im sure you would.

i wish he had said this.

rather ambitious, either way.

i usually require at least 6 weeks when hiring 30k or more ngrs.

takes a while to round 'em up, you know.

They wont actually be his employees, rather he is buying this company that calls local repair business (which total have about 35,000 employees) and then he will get 75% and the tech guy will get 25%, or some shit like that. But Im pretty sure all the employees will be working for Nerds Electronics.

Guys at my high school bought companies with 35k employees for six figures and IPO'd them all the time, it was no big deal.

LOL! Good luck on that. I was a technician for over 35 yrs,now that things are hi tech,do you realize the cost of road time for a technician to go to the house ,then almost 99% of the time have it taken in for repairs, the Down time Plus the labor & parts will more then 80% of the time exceed the value of the set.

Yeah the thing that worries me is this guy is telling glad that this company he's buying has 35,000 employees. A company would that type of payroll wouldn't cost 6 figures to purchase lol. What I'm guessing is they have 35,000 contacts they deal with. It's probably like a lead generation company or something for electronic repair.

But the fact the guy worded it like that seemed shady.

And glad, weren't you telling us this guy did thousands of listings and you'd always have work? you probably shouldn't be jumping the gun before you start bragging about a job. Because then you have something like this

He is paying for national advertising lol you should tell me when u see me on tv in a commercial bro. Nah but seriously its gonna be about 100,000 start up for EVERYTHING to get the ball rolling. Im pretty sure they are just buying the company and putting their own name on it, and then will be contacting different local companies to do the tech work. As far as 35,000 employees on payroll, I dont know what thats all about. Ill have to ask

I do have a bunch of ebay work that needs to be done - they have a warehouse full of 100,000 different parts. But something happened with one of the people that did the work for me to post them so this week was kinda slow. Im not worried about it at all - I know they are gonna be huge within 30 days. But I am pretty sure I dont wanna do tech work, not my style. Id rather do ebay stuff and maybe run the ebay store for a flat fee, and post some stuff up as well, and help around the shop on days they need me. We will see, I will keep updated

When you say he's purchasing national advertisements then go on to say he's paying $100,000 for everything you don't mean including advertisements do you?

Because I can tell you a national, 30 second tv spot will likely cost much more than $100,000 alone. So that $100,000 can't be for EVERYTHING. Unless you meant that was just for the buying of the business alone. Even then Glad, do you really not think $100,000 seems a little fishy? That seems like nothing for a 350,000 person business, no?

I didn't feel like reading responses so that may have all been said, but you need to Sartre being a little more weary of things people tell you. People will tell you whatever you want to hear if it means more money for them.

Good luck though. :-)

lol glad....$100,000 is peanuts in terms of business.

my restaurant cost almost half that , and it's a relatively tiny place with a singular location

you really are way over your head brother. or just believe all the bullshit this guy is spewing. Which i find kind of ironic, because we could tell you things up and down the river for years on end and you still won't believe us

So, lets review:

8 days ago - glad got this new job
6 days ago - glad didnt know how/when/if he was getting paid
5 days ago - owner tells glad he can pay him under the table in cash without any 1099 documentation
3 days ago - glads making $800 an hour due to mad ebay postings
1 day ago - business was actually slow and he didnt have many postings at all, he hasnt gotten paid yet (for some reason), and the owner apparently is buying a business with 35,000 employees and a warehouse full of 100,000 electronic units for the price of a Mercedes.

Sounds legit.

Tomorrow Glads deleting this entire thread because everyone was right.

Fuck that noise. Glad is obviously in on the ground floor of the next Groupon!

Plus, with his jacked up grill, I don't see glad being able to make a shit load of commission generating sales:

so if they have a warehouse full of stuff why didnt you have anything to list?

Rational questions have no place in this thread, nan.

Buried in the black hole called the silver thread, joker was bragging about how he went to Steve Austin University in your home state of Texas: Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas University, College

When you look under majors ( Agriculture | Majors and Areas of Study | Become a Student | SFASU ), they apparently have a highly regarded Turfgrass Management course of study.

Yea SFA State is probably on the lower end of the totem pole as far as Texas public universities go. An Im quite certain a turgrass management degree would probably get you a job as waterboy for the school football team.

To his credit, joker did mention that it was a non-accredited university.

I dont think he quite understood that that's not really something to be proud of. But then again, what do you expect from a graduate of a non-accredited university?

We all love Glad... To me he is just someone with personality flaws he needs to overcome or he will have even more troubles as he gets older.
I think we all did at 21, I know I did. He is stubborn to a fault, which is why we constantly tell him "I told you so" over and over. I think he is insecure about his current situation and it causes him to act out and just be foolish. People also want answers to their issues they think they have so they get caught up in these ridiculous schemes like Glad does with the Silver etc..
It's okay to have a bad idea, we all do... But at a certain point you have to realize that it is not the answer to your problems and you need to focus your energy on things can really help you.

I'm gonna forgo my business and my MBA to go redo my undergrad at Stone Cold State University. I'm gonna major in turfgrass management, with a minor in finger four leglock

yeah, we all love glad. esp. 75th, there's a lot of emotion and caring there.

No its actually accredited, its part of the Texas State University system, its just low end and small etc.
Unless the turfgrass program itself is nonaccredited which Im inclined to believe.

I PM'ed him and told him to change his major to this:

Spatial Science - SFA - College of Forestry

Spatial Technology has been identified as one of the targeted industry sectors by the President’s High Growth Job Training Initiative. It is projected to add substantial numbers of new jobs to the economy requiring new skills sets for workers. Since 2004, the U.S. Department of Labor has been invested $6 million to address the workforce needs of the geospatial technology industry.

Butt do they use 5-axis processing to cut down those trees?

so if they have a warehouse full of stuff why didnt you have anything to list?

because one person quit, and the other 35,000 couldn't do the work!

Turfgrass managers can make good money. I worked for my university's athletic grounds crew the summer after I graduated high school. My boss makes somewhere between $120-130k. A grounds manager at a nice or even semi-nice course makes $70-90k. Entry level grounds workers, say for an MLB team, make about 30k.

Glad could always do what I do and be making good money within a couple years and have solid insurance, retirement, 401k and stock options. The company I'm working for is supposed to hire close to 5000 people this year across the united states. They have a lot of people who are about to retire in the next few years creating the vacancies.

Whats that? PTA is my goal but I am willing to weigh different options

Every old person-populated industry is like this. Nuke >>> RR, btw.

I used to repair cell phones and iPods for a living and still make good money at it but now it's just a side job. I own the business and I'm shutting it down in a couple of weeks because it's too stressful now that I have a full time job.

It's really difficult and the parts quality is iffy at best.

What's this business model you're talking about? Reminds me of a guy I talked with a while ago, Jesse somebody. Jesse Herman I think. We were going to go into business together but it didn't work out.

What I'm guessing is they have 35,000 contacts they deal with. It's probably like a lead generation company or something for electronic repair.

Yeah there are a couple of these. One is this one that has a little video of a guy in the lower left hand corner of the web page when you visit it, and the other one I think is called repair magic or something.

They're for ALL kinds of repair pros though, from fridges to furnaces. 90% of small electronics are disposable. Think someone's going to pay to get a clock radio or boombox fixed when you can get a new, probably next more advanced model at Wal-Mart for under $50?

Did you bring any fruits or vegetables onto the planet?

this site is slower than the second coming of christ....

ps...MORE MONEY, MORE FREEDOM, MORE AIIIIIIIIR
