midnight marauders, one of the best albums of all time?

I hate Jimmy Fallon, but listen to it.

A) It has the Roots in it, so it has to be good. Aren't you from you Philly anyways?

I am, good memory. I actually didn't watch the clip, I just saw the title in the URL. I used to see The Roots freestyling in Love Park when I skated selling their demo tapes. I wish I has saved some.

I've seen The Roots live 5 times, and every time was better than the time before. And actually skating was what got me into their music.. heard one of their tracks in a video and got hooked.

I doubt you're old enough to remember this company (kills self), but I actually got picked up by Shut Skates out of NYC. Never got my own board or anything, but I got all the merchandise I ever needed, plus all I could give out to people. I was also picked up by a skate park called Cheapskates, PA. All that got me was free access to the park, some t-shirts, and I set up and cleaned up whenever Bones Brigade came into town. It was really cool to meet cab, McGill, Tony, andthe others back then. They were completelt humble and after demos they'd do anything they could to get kids more into it. Once in the suburbs they did a show and a 12 year old kid was afraid to off a launch ramp and they all stood there to catch him if he lost it. Never appreciated it until I was older.

Shut Skates seems like it was before my time. I started skating like early to mid 90's. I still have a sick fun box that me and my dad built in my moms garage. I still keep a board in the trunk of my car, but I haven't ridden in at least 2 or 3 years.

Tribe called quest represent represent

jnevin could you ollie those insane stairs at love? seen then in the vids

Yes Mr I could. Best handrail I ever got was 10 stairs. Took many failures.

The one thing I could never do was a rock & roll on a halfpipe. I could do them fakie on vert, but could never do the 180. Pissed me the fugg off.

the lyrical dexterity of certain emcees i still listen to.
but yeah def has faded overall...but tribe is always on rotation
for me

I can appreciate good rhymes but I think learning guitar and piano made me appreciate music more. With the lyrical side so overpowering in rap even though they're rhyming it all just starts to sound like talking by comparison. To be honest though I don't really listen to a lot of any music anymore, it's kinda distracting when I'm reading/watching the interwebs. Every time you click a video link you have to turn it down lol. The car is really the only place I listen to music anymore by istelf.
