(micro) pyramids

Not sure if thats what they are called. When lifting I usually do 4 sets of eight .I ramp up in weight such as 100,105,110,115,with the last set failing at 6-8.Would it be better to up the weight(and up the weight each set also) and do 8,7,6,5 rep pyramid?.I have done the traditional 12,10,8,6 and really respond better under 8 reps, and straight sets get boring after awhile.Anyone use this before,or does it even make sense?

I always pyramid the following:
75% 1RM - 8r
85% 1RM - 7r
90% 1RM - 6r
75% 1RM - 10r
50% 1RM - 12r

I see the best results doing this, as I train both for myofibril AND endoplasmic hypertrophy as well as endurance. I don't think adding 5lbs to each step of your pyramid is really helping you too much... But everyone's different. Doing the endurance sets last makes sure I don't waste energy on the really heavy lifts. I think the 12-6 progression is backwards (like cardio before lifting).
