no sympathy but it sucks this will tarnish his image a bit...really a pretty minor thing, we (certain western countries
with strict weed laws) make it out to be bigger than it is.
if it was a cig or chewing tobacco nobody would care...such a stigma with weed that i think is unecessary
 
If News Of The World is breaking the story be very suspect. If only British tabloids are the only ones with the story it's not going to cost him much at all, assuming it's real.

No one is going to care that he smoked some weed.

That being said, olympic athletes normally have a very short shelf life for endorsements anyway. they are in one or maybe two olympics, 4 years apart and then are out of the public eye, for the most part.

If they are an ice skater they get to do those crappy sesame street on ice or other gigs.

yep, he was exceptional, but he just doesn't have the constant exposure of say a Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods.

The job of olympic stars is to make enough bank to set them for life. And considering his multi-million dollar contracts - looks like he's not only set, but his kids are set for life too. Prior olympic stars are out of the eye, but they still have their mega millions.

Ask Mark Spitz he was pissed no one bought him a ticket to China to watch this guy. Think Spitz pumps gas for a living. BTW he held the record for the most swimming medals before this guy.
 
Fucking dumb of him to be doing that shit in public, knowing everyone is gonna try to catch him doing some shady shit. He needs to buy a pound and smoke that shit at the crib.

Unfortunately for Phelps, most endorsement deals contain a 'morals clause' that can void it, require that the celeb pay back some of the up-front money, ect.

Funny how NBC used Phelps to increase their ratings. He was on every like 15 seconds. Phelps Phelps Phelps.

And once the Olympics were over - they didn't even offer him a guest role on anything. One SNL skit and they told him to take a hike. Welcome to the world of Hollywood kids. They won't even return his calls.

As for morals clause - a good agent will demand full payment upon commercial or start of campaign. When you're at the top - and everyone's bidding for your services - you can demand what you want. Any loophole, trust me, will always be utilized to get out of paying - any agent knows this.

Hard to tell if it's really him. You'd think if someone took that pic, they'd take a full frontal shot of him toking it up/slamming down beers/etc.

OH Ma Gawd - call the FBI - he was caught smoking pot!

Honestly, Michael is just happy to be in the news again!

The absolute WORST thing that can happen to a celebrity .... is for people to STOP talking about them.
