Michael Jordan

his HOF speech was great, pushing 50 and the guy still is talkin trash and bullying his ex-opponents on stage

I would'nt be suprised at all if he came back to the NBA to play

lol at who cares. fucking retard. guy is easily the greatest athlete I've seen in my short life time. he's a fucking god.

also - apparently he was out until 6:30am the day of his HOF induction getting wrecked and partying. good man.

Yeah, I guess he had the chance to be the greatest player in the world, but yet he shows how petty he is.

It's like he constantly has to prove himself to himself because he'll never see the success that he has.

He'll never get the acceptance that he wants.

yeah. . .ummmm. . .that's not an uncommon trait among elite athletes. . .especially when you were too small and "under-talented" to make the team as a high school sophomore. . .i'm pretty sure that one experience left a strong and lasting impression on him. . .nothing he said diminished him in my eyes. . .

To me, it has.

To me, it's no different then the top level rock stars who still see themselves as losers and kill themselves in drug induced overdoses. Or a woman who turns to extreme dieting and wastes away because of it (like Karen Carpenter). It's a waste of talent and a waste of a human life. On some level, it's almost funny (if people didn't die because of it).

I saw a man who was petty and unable to see how much better he is then others. I saw a man who will never see himself as a champion and always see himself with a chip on his solider. I saw a man who would be a (IMHO) terrible role model and I hope his kids don't turn out like him or die because of it.

I saw a man who will likely die being depressed because he will never achieve the thing that he wants, not because he hasn't attained it but because he can't see it.

meh. . .i've never been "elite" at anything, so i've never really had a lot of trouble moving on when it was time to hang up my jockstrap. . .but, i'd give quite a bit to have one more opportunity to put on the pads, under the lights, on a cool autumn night, where my only care in the world was trying to get the right angle on that asshat carrying the ball down the sidelines so that i could have a shot at ear-holing his ass into the first row of bleachers. . .now, all i can do is sit and wait. . .and hope that my son gets the bug. . .he's only 3 though, so i got a little while to wait yet. . .

mike still has the fire in his belly, you say? yeah, that sounds about right. . .

ps: athletes and entertainers (oh yeah, and politicians) generally make piss-poor role models for kids. . .

MJ will never be a coach or be on TV doing color. In His mind he's not retired.
Sure he's the BEST ever but he's no DR. J, Larry Bird or Wayne Gretzky

I can see if you snag some thoughts but exact vocab to? Yes I read that blog to
Jordan's night to remember turns petty - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Wojnarowski is a known douche in the sports writers world, similar to Skip Bayless

come with a fresh opinion

He wouldn't be considered the greatest ballplayer ever if he didn't have that attitude; that's what fueled him to be a level above everyone else competitively, especially those that ever doubted him. This was his night to get everything off his chest and to let everyone know how he truly felt. No problem with that.

Do you think he never let us know how he felt before?
Why not just write a book?

anyway who G.A.S.? thats life, you cant be #1 and have class at the same time.

lmao....take a look at my posts when I'm being serious...I sound like a 1st year psych teacher or a disagraced sports caster mixed in with a little Dr Phil.

I'm always hoping that people will be the bigger person and not be so petty. But alas, there's too much damaged emotional psyche. I saw it by Kurt's action, I see it in Jordan now.
It's like he'll never forgive himself for something that happened along time ago.

Want to know a douche who redeemed himself when he retired? Take a look at Eric Lindros.

Now that I've read the article that you've included, I didn't realize that 'greatest player' and 'petty' were trademarks that couldn't be re-used. lmao...

pfffft. . .he'd still be trying to play right now if it wasn't for concussions and a bad back. . .so would cam neely if ulf samuelsson had wrecked his leg so badly that his thigh muscle began to calcify. . .for every barry sanders, there's a thousand brett favre's and evander holyfield's. . .it's the nature of professional sports. . .it's the nature of men in general. . .

he did look pretty haggard at his hof speech, def out boozing/whoring.
and lol at ender getting called on e-plagarism, tsk tsk

don't you have some fires to get yourself killed in or a big bear of a man in NO that wants to see you?

:mix:

MJ was never a good person
womanizer, gambler, obsessive compulsive, etc...

but it was all those things and his own insecurities that drove him to be the best ever

rare is the person who reaches the apex of competitive sports and humanitarian interests.
