Men, could you date a woman who makes more money than you do?

I don't just mean an extra five grand or whatever, but say you met girl who made 2x-3x your yearly salary...could you handle that?

I mean, shit, if you made $100K a year and she made $200K that would be ok...but say you only made $30,000 and she made $90,000?

I don't think I could do it.

What are your thoughts, gents?
 
I'd prefer to date a woman that makes more then me.
 
well i have the oppurtunity to date a chick that makes around 100,000 grand a year i make about 17 grand a year. to me looks and personality is more important than how much money she has

in all seriosuness, I would prefer dating a chick that made more money than I did. then again, I wouldn't be dating her for money...
 
90% of the girls I have dated made more money than me. For some reason I prefer dating women who make more money than me. They give better gifts and they enjoy paying when you go out on dates. Doesn't get any better than this if you ask me. ;)
 
My mom started her own company and it is very successful. My father (who was in the oil business at the time) could not handle her success and money. They are not together anymore.

I can see where the friction would be if you were getting "married" but maybe not in dating. I have a friend who has A LOT of money and she told me that she believed that no woman should ever go more than a month without a total body makeover, massage, hair/nails/skin done...EVER. She wasn't smiling either...not at all.

I told her that in America we call that Rich and Spoiled.

To an extent...I can understand that. A sense of "equality" MUST be present.

In most cases...either one partner rubs it in the other's face...or the other partner starts to feel like they are NOTHING because they are not successful. Men, mostly, like to feel that they contribute to the family and are very strong. They don't like to feel like failures at all...or to be seen as not a success.

The amount of money she makes has nothing to do with the type of person she is, the same for the man. As long as there is an emotional partnership, then you have a good chance to be happy. Without that, you have no chance.

I think in her case it was a generation thing. Men in her generation have a harder time dealing with it.

I think my Dad used money to control my mom. When she made her own, he could not handle it. Believe me, he did not get his face rubbed in it. Quite the opposite.

well, i think happy makes more than ssme and i KNOW WODIN makes more than havoc, so i think most can handle it.

Rich & spoiled are relative terms. Anyone who owns a car is probably considered spoiled by somalia terms.



btw, i would marry a rich woman. Let her make the money, i ain't the fuck giver. Money is money is money.

well my ex had some high up position at ups, made around 60k....and i was a loader there making 200 bucks a week. Of course she was 26 and im 19..
 
No problems here with being with a woman who makes more than me. As long as we get along. In fact, if a couple got married, it seems like the man would have a better chance of not getting screwed over if they divorce.
 
And the fact that someones girl/wife/trim might make more than them is a problem? I don't see why it would be or should be. Maybe for a chauvanistic (sp?) insecure guy. Maybe that is unconventional traditionally speaking but who gives a shit. Lay back, appreciate and enjoy their success.
 
My fiance makes about 40% more than me, and I kind of like it. We're going into a marriage in which she has a wad of cash in the bank, and I have a minute nestegg.

It's nice, because most of my friend's girlfriends are spending them out of house and home, with no regard for the value of a dollar. My fiance is at the other end of the spectrum, I'm the one doing all the spending.:)
