You selfish bastard, all about me, me, me!!!! Just kidding bros... Getting into a relationship/dating a female with kids is complicated.. She won't give it up at first and when she does, its only when she feels you are comfortable with the kid and stuff. Then you hit it a few times and run...Stupid chick shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place, should've got an abortion.
Its like a revolving door for them... meet a guy thats great in the beginning then decide to give it up. After a few months, he stops calling and feel used. No shit , biotch !!

Ok I'm not a guy, but if I was in the situation you just described, I'd run far FAR away. First of all, considering that the mother was present, it's HER responsibility as a parent to discipline her child. Allowing a child to misbehave does no one any favors, especially the child, because it'll grow up to be a pain in the ass who nobody likes, through no fault of its own.
Second, I don't think children should be included on dates until the relationship is serious enough to be long term, as in almost engaged. Children quickly get attached, and if the relationship doesn't last, it's very painful and hard for them to understand why "Mommy's friend doesn't like me anymore" - kids take it personally.
And if you're not quite sure about step-fatherhood, make darn sure you 'take precautions' to insure you don't become a biological father

So my buddy and I were at a bar one time. Getting smashed. Anyway, we start talking to these two chicks. My buddy really likes one of em, and we end up talking to them outside (deciding where to go next).... While we are standing out by their car, I notice a stroller and baby crap in the back of the broad's car... I don't say anything. We decide where to meet up, and we get in our car and start following 'em. Meantime, I am telling my buddy about the stroller etc in the car. We come to the first light. They go left, he turns right.... end of story. Next time you see a stroller, I suggest the same.

to follow up, im not dating that particular girl any longer. it just kinda fizzled out. real weird too. in the beginning, i listened to everything she said. she got attached really quick, started checking my voicemails, going through the phone, arguing about other girls calling, etc. i played on that, saw that she was weak for the dedication deal. she would always be like, "we're sleeping together and your out with all these other whores etc..!!" i would always see her at a bar that my friends and i frequented and seeing me all over girls or vice versa would really piss her off. her only defense was to resort to making me jealous. there was a guy here that was a radio dj that would go to all the clubs n stuff and he was like, in love with her. she would let me hear his voicemails were this dood was just swinging from her nuts. i didnt show that i cared(im good with hiding stuff like that) and just disregarded it. but anyhow, to make a long story short, it just fell through, i quit calling, she quit calling, and now were here.
anyways, back to the original point of the thread. it was kinda uncomfortable that it happened. there were a few times that i was embarrassed sitting in a high dollar restaraunt(spontanious decision to eat there, not a date) and the kid goes apeshit and starts throwing a tantrum. everyone there is looking at me like "well daddy, you gonna do something?" lol...
im not brewing over it, just wondering what you peeps would have done in the situation.
to top it all off, the girl im dating now has a kid too, and the girl that i was messin around with with the above afformentioned chick had one as well... LOL

Her responsibilty first, yours only if your watching the kid or have a deeper relationship. I will be dating a women for the second time this coming weekend, I'm 26 and she has three kids-18yo-15 and 13. NOW that's a change.

malice, there obviously something about you that screams "daddy material". If you really feel that way you say you do, its time to stop picking up women with children.
