medicinal marijuana

I heard on the radio today a story about a woman who lost at the appelate court level a case that would allow her to smoke marijuana without fear of being arrested. This lady was not a previous pot smoker and had never even had so much as a speeding ticket. She has an inoperable brain tumor and muscular dystrophy, and her doctor testified that he recommended the marijuana for medicinal use.

When my mother was dying of cancer it was EXTREMELY helpful in her treatment. I normally am opposed to recreational drugs and have never done drugs myself, but I not only condoned but encouraged her to use them. It really helped with her pain and her appetite. Plus, when someone is dying why are people so taboo about those people getting a buzz, even if they did catch a buzz? It is not like you can argue that the pot smoking is bad for their health when they have only been given a few months to live anyway.

I would like to support legislation to allow the medicinal use of marijuana as prescribed by a physician. It is actually a very effective and useful drug.

yeah, that is what my mom had. I once had hospice come in my house and my sister and I were trying to fan the pot smoke away because my mom had just used it. I know the nurse knew. It was OBVIOUS, but I could tell she didn't think a thing about it. I bet lots of people in that situation use it. It helps SO MUCH. I can't tell you how much it helped her.

i saw in a movie that if you crush a bunch of opium based pain killers or chew a bunch and swallow all of it at the same time then it becomes toxic to your body and it kills you. i think that's what i would do as a last resort if the marijuana didn't help.

The hospice nurse said that a few drops of it may stop one of our hearts but because she had had cancer and been on morphine so long her body could take it. They grow a crazy tolerance for that stuff. In the end, I think the morphine is what kills most cancer patients. You have to keep giving them more and more to combat the pain. The last day of her life, we were told to give her 4 drops of morphine under her tongue every hour! That is a crazy amount, but better to hasten death than to allow someone to suffer when they are terminal anyway.

I cant agree with you more. Laws are made up by people and most people are stupid anyways. You have to make your own descisions in life, whether the law agrees with it or not. My feeling is as long as you dont hurt anyone else...do what the hell you want. Your only on this planet once, enjoy the ride.

Well, I can tell you from first hand experience it is immensely helpful for chemotherapy patients too.

It is pretty hard to pretend to have cancer or HIV, etc. That is a verifiable condition.
